Atelier Annie: Alchemist of Sera Island, released in Japan as Atelier Annie: Alchemist of Sera Island (Annie no Atelier: Sera Shima no Renkijutsushi) is a handheld role-playing game developed by Japanese developer Gust for the Nintendo DS.

The game was released in Japan on March 12, 2009, and set for a US release date on October 27, 2009.

Plot

Annie is sent to the Island to break her laziness habit where she meets Pepe, who has come to train her in Alchemy. She discovers that the person who commits the most to the project will win the title of Meister and be married to the prince of Orde. She resolves to be a great alchemist and to marry up. You have three (game time) years to build a resort.

Gameplay

The gameplay is similar to both an Strategy RPG game and a Simulator game. To contribute to the development, every half year there is an Alchemy contest which you receive prize money to build facilities. Once they are built you have someone manage them. Battles occur once you leave town to gather materials. Players will visit the adventurers guild and choose a quest they want to do. After collecting the various raw materials necessary to complete the job, players will have to guide Annie back home, where she can use her alchemic skills to fuse various items. In order to complete a quest these items then have to be brought to the adventurers guild.

Characters

• Annie

The 17 year old protagonist who has the potential to be a good alchemist, she dreams of marrying up so she doesn't have to work hard. To straighten her out her parents sent her to Seras Island.

• Hans Ahrens

A 19 year old man in charge of the resort's construction and acts as Annie's supervisor. Thanks to his sheltered upbringing, he knows nothing of the world, fashion, or women.

• Pepe

Pepe is a Fairy teaching alchemy to Annie at her grandfather's request. He has raised many successful alchemist in the past and is a strict teacher.

• Kilbert Hannes

A 23 yr. old well-known adventurer from the Adventurer's Guild, He carries around a large sword called Fragarach on his back. Annie meets him while looking for a bodyguard.

• Gillian Clout

An 18 yr. old Lady Knight of the Knights of Orde whose job it is to protect the island during the development project. She is a genius spear wielder. Annie meets her while looking for a bodyguard.

• Kyle Eugrad

A 25 yr. old mechanic from a foreign land, he came to Seras Island to propagate Mechanical development. He is handsome enough to be a model but because his personality, Annie doesn't like him.
