Template:Bosnia and Herzegovina municipalities Žepče is a town and municipality in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, located between Doboj and Zenica. It is administratively part of the Zenica-Doboj Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1458 in a charter issued by the Bosnian King Stjepan Tomašević.

Municipality of Žepče - total: 22,966

Town of Žepče - total: 5,571

2005

No census has been carried out since 1991. It is estimated that in 2005, population of municipality includes 61% Croats and 38% Bosniaks. However, the municipality borders have been changed in 2001.new borders

Sport

The town is home to the football club NK Žepče.
