Martha Joan Hart (born October 31, 1967) is the former wife of former professional wrestler Owen Hart, who died in May 1999.[1]

Personal life

She and Owen have 2 children: Oje Edward Hart (born March 5 1992) and Athena Christy Hart (born September 23 1995). She was seen in the audience at SummerSlam 1994, behind Stu and Helen Hart, with her son Oje. She was also seen at Canadian Stampede in 1997. Also Martha claimed That she thought stone cold steve austin was faking about breaking his neck at Summerslam 1997. And some of the Hart Family members have claimed they never liked her. Martha is Jewish but always was said to kept that to herself. She met her husband Owen when she was 15 and he was 17. When one of her friends had tooken her to a stampede wrestling event. And every friday night her kids and her and sometimes Owen would always go to the pool. ( Where she worked part time on Fridays) Then would get some pizza, and the last time they did that with Owen along was May 21st 1999. Two days before Owen had died. And was one of the most wonderful memories she has of her husband. In her sister in laws book Diana had said Owen was on a trip in England and had met a woman. And when he came back to Calgary he was going to break things off with Martha. But had a thing where he could never hurt anyone, and ended up not breaking up, and Martha and Owen got married.

Now Days

Martha currently lives in England with her daughter Athena to finish her Pchcology studying to get her bacholor degree, while her son remains in Calgary.

Book

In 2002, she wrote a book entitled Broken Harts: The Life and Death of Owen Hart, which is about her life with Owen from their days as high school sweethearts.

Lawsuits

Martha Hart settled her wrongful death lawsuit against the World Wrestling Federation for approximately $18 million.[2] She used the funds to establish the Owen Hart Foundation.[3] She has managed the foundation since 1999.[1] Some of the money also went into trust funds for her children.[4] After the lawsuit, Martha separated herself from the majority of the Hart family.[4] She cites Bret, Keith, Stu, and Helen Hart as the only Hart family members who sided with her during the battle.[4] She criticised those family members who continued to work for the WWF.[4]

There is real-life tension between Martha and her sister-in-law Diana Hart-Smith.[1] Martha claims that Diana's book, Under the Mat: Inside Wrestling's Greatest Family, is both slanderous and libelous.[1]
