Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies is a nationally recognized foodservice equipment and supplies dealer headquartered in Perrysburg, Ohio, USA. Founded in 1977, the company specializes in commercial kitchen design, new and used restaurant equipment, and smallwares resupply, serving customers across the United States.

History
Burkett was founded in 1977 by Jameel (Jim) Burkett (1920-2006) and his son, Mike Burkett (1957-2021), in Toledo, Ohio, USA. With Jim's extensive experience in the restaurant industry and a shared entrepreneurial vision, they launched Burkett from a modest 2,500 square foot building on Detroit Avenue. The initial focus was on providing quality used restaurant equipment to the local community.

By 1984, Burkett's success allowed for a move to a larger 11,000 square foot facility on Jefferson Avenue. In 1985, Mike Burkett took over the business, expanding the offerings to include both new and used equipment. This strategic shift met the evolving needs of customers and spurred further growth, leading to a move in 1993 to the historic Pinkerton Tobacco factory on Council Street.

In 2002, Mike’s eldest son, Jameel M. Burkett, joined the company bringing a fresh new perspective. Under Jameel's leadership, Burkett embraced technology by launching a website and establishing a presence on eBay by 2005, significantly expanding the company's reach to national customers.

In 2006, the company won contracts with rapidly growing national chain Marco's Pizza, which it used as its preferred supplier of pizza ovens and dough mixers. This marked a significant milestone in the company's growth and national recognition.

By 2010, Burkett was listed in Inc. magazine 2010 "Inc. 5000" list of the fastest-growing companies in the US. The company continued to evolve, selling the Council Street location in 2015 and moving to a modern facility on Glenwood Road in 2016. This new 178,000 square foot space featured a single-story warehouse, larger showroom, and enhanced workspaces. By 2022, growing demand necessitated the addition of a secondary leased warehouse, underscoring Burkett's continuous growth.

In 2023, Burkett was ranked No. 40 in the Top 100 Foodservice Equipment Distributors Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine.. This annual study recognizes the top distributors in the foodservice industry based on factors such as sales volume, number of employees, and customer satisfaction. Despite challenges like supply chain issues and inflation, Burkett saw close to 30% growth in sales from the previous year.
