Peter Eagle Sims is an American author, investor, and entrepreneur. He is the author of three books, True North: Discover Your Authentic Leadership (2007; co-authored with Bill George), Little Bets: How Breakthrough Ideas Emerge from Small Discoveries (2011), and Black Sheep: The Quest to Be Human in an Inhuman Time (2024). True North was a Wall Street Journal bestseller[1], and Little Bets was selected as one of the six best advice books for entrepreneurs by the Wall Street Journal.[2] According to Inc. Magazine, "As a former VC and longtime collaborator with the Stanford Institute of Design, Sims knows his way around disruptive ideas."[3]

Sims is the Founder & Chairman of BLK SHP (Black Sheep), a place and platform for experimentation and investing. Previously, he worked as an investor at Summit Partners in London where he co-founded the firm’s European office. He has also been an advisor at Google[x], The Moonshot Factory, Alphabet’s semi-secret innovation laboratory.[4] He was also part of the founding team for GivingTuesday, the global philanthropy movement.

Life

Sims is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Stanford Business School. He grew up in the rural foothills of Northern California, where his father was a county judge, and he attended Colfax High School.[5]
