Patrick Olson is an American rock musician and artist known for his experimental exploration of art, science and music. His work is often science-centric and has been cited to be "revolutionary... [and] transformative"[1]. His 2023 show, Emergence[2], has been likened to American Utopia by David Byrne[3].
He resides in Los Angeles and lists Arctic Monkeys and The Rolling Stones as influences[4] for his gritty, raw tone. Influences also come from the New Wave movement and performance artists of the 1980s.
In addition to being a musician, Patrick Olson has published educational science texts.

Emergence: Things Are Not As They Seem
In 2022, Patrick Olson performed his sold-out show Emergence: Things Are Not As They Seem at the El Portal Theatre in Los Angeles. Following its success, the show transferred to Pershing Square Signature Center in October 2023 for an Off-Broadway run.
Described as an "original performance of music, spoken word and psychedelia,"[7] Emergence is an exploration of the deepest aspects of the human experience peppered with fascinating science facts which both entertain and baffle. It blends art, science and music and presents them as spoken-word monologues, original musical performances, choreography, scientific discussion, and immersive video imagery. It "deals with time, matter, energy, human perception, and love, and challenges our human tendency to think in convenient shortcuts when observing the world around us."[8]
Defying conventional boundaries, Emergence can be described as a trippy TED Talk meets performative concert.
As part of the show, he is joined by four vocalists: Cherry Davis, Samara Brown, Miya Bass, and Bella Kosal; plus four musicians Steven Styles, Nadav Hezi, Jordan Coker, and Thomas Nickell; and three dancers Summer Sheldrick, Dana Liebezeit, and Lavy Cavaleire.
