Hey Cassiopeia, how's everything going? Hopefully well. In the article of Slovak athlete Tajmuraz Salkazanov I had added he's a naturalized Slovak of Russian origins, as correct, and the user I mentioned above first reverted it and said "why you deleted his natialisty? he's a Russian and have never refused his natinality" which I just ignored because that's literally pointed out. Then another user reverted it and put it like I had, and this guy just goes "are you dumb?? he has a Russian citizenship, he is not slovak heritage. He is still Russian" and reverts it. I then added his win at Euros yesterday and also fixed it once again, this guy reverts again, I revert again (didn't break the rule, just reverted twice), and he just goes "chilean kunt" and changes like "Russian origins" to Russian origins or something like that. I don't know what was up there, so I'm just informing right away as ur basically the only admin ik. Idk if he broke a rule or if aggressiveness is penalized, but there u go, thx. :PabloLikesToWrestle Thank you for the message above. ::Hello. Thank u for the info about edit warring, now it's much clearer. Yea that's the thing, imo he makes it hard to even notice that the guy of the article isn't in fact only Russian, probably because he's biased by his nationality. He wants to put it like "... is a Russian wrestler. He won ... while competing for Slovakia", which literally makes it seem like he's not Slovakian. This bias is made clearer by the insults, as he shows he's mad when the description of the article doesn't represent it as 100% Russian. Anyway, thank you for your assistance as always Cassiopeia, God bless. PabloLikesToWrestle (talk) 13:38, 23 April 2021 (UTC) |

Seeking help with an article containing original research
Hello, we've interacted in the past and I've always found you approach helpful and your commitment Wikipedia guidelines admirable. I've discovered what I believe is a fairly severe violation of Wikipedia guidelines on original research and source reliability in the Care.com article. I've posted about it on the article's talk page, but no other editors have responded. Since I am a paid contributor (my COI is declared on the Talk page in multiple places), I am extremely reluctant to just act unilaterally. My hope is that you would be willing to take a look at my description of the problem on the Talk page and offer up an opinion to help get the ball rolling on some type of consensus, not matter what it ends up being.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Care.com
Before posting there, I described the situation to two editors I've worked with in the past, and they both agreed that this is a problem at some level. If things remain quiet, I'll also ask them to participate in the Talk page discussion as well. Thanks for your time and I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of the situation. Please also see:

- SBCornelius, Good day. May I know which sources and the associated content of the article you are talking about so I may look into it. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 08:22, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- Cassiopeia, yes and thank you for taking a look. The content in question starts with the second paragraph under Allegations of insufficient background checks and the entire following section, Overbilling claims and scams onsite. Those sections rely almost exclusively on the self-published source, Dorsey, Edwin (June 11, 2018). "Care.com: Multiple Deaths and Child Abuses, Fraudulent Billing, and a Harvey Weinstein Babysitter". Medium. Retrieved July 2, 2020. Thanks again for taking a look. - SBCornelius, Thank you for the info. Will have a look at it this weekend. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:59, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol School
Hi, you nominated my latest article for deletion so it is only appropriate to ask you to become my mentor. I had recently applied for new page reviewer rights and was told that while I qualified with my attitude I needed more editing experience, complimented with some mentoring from experienced editors. So here I am! Let me know if you are available. Thank you! nearlyevil665 20:55, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- nearlyevil665 Good day. WP:NPPSCHOOL program is a comprehensive program which requires the participant to spend time to read provided material (WP pages) and do the assignments. The project consists of 3 parts with 10 assignments and 1 final exam. It covers notability, sources, tagging, wiki project, subsort, wiki content policies, CSD, PROPS, AfD, communication, review and much more topics. Participant usually takes 2-3 months to complete the program (it depends how much time you spend on the program), but there is no time frame set to complet the the program as each editor works on the assignments on their own pace.
- Many participant abandoned the program due to the find they need to spend more time on the assignments/reading material as they anticipate the amount of work and time needed. Once you have complete the program, you would equip with the knowledge to review new pages. If you have some personal commitment and need to take more than 7-10 days to work on the assignment, then just simply let me know. Let me know if you are still interest to join the program after reading the info above and if so, then pls complete the WP:TWA first which might take you 90 mins to complete. Pop back here once you have done. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 08:40, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- Cassiopeia Thanks for the swift reply! I understand the mentoring comes with a commitment and I confirm I have the motivation and opportunity to clock in the time required to complete the course. I nearly always have at least an hour of free time for Wikipedia every day (unless something unpredictable happens, like I or someone under my care contracts the you know what). I completed the WP:TWA as instructed. nearlyevil665 15:26, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- nearlyevil665 I have set up the program for you. Welcome to NPPS. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 02:59, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Recent changes
- Email to the Wikimedia wikis are handled by groups of Wikimedia editors. These volunteer response teams now use Znuny instead of OTRS. The functions and interface remain the same. The volunteer administrators will give more details about the next steps soon. [1][2]
- If you use syntax highlighting, you can see line numbers in the 2010 and 2017 wikitext editors when editing templates. This is to make it easier to see line breaks or talk about specific lines. Line numbers will soon come to all namespaces. [3][4][5]
- Because of a technical change there could be problems with gadgets and scripts that have an edit summary area that looks similar to this one. If they look strange they should use
mw.loader.using('mediawiki.action.edit.styles')
to go back to how they looked before. [6] - The latest version of MediaWiki came to the Wikimedia wikis last week. There was no Tech News issue last week.
Changes later this week
- There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
Future changes
- The user group

will be renamedsuppress
. This is for technical reasons. This is the technical name. It doesn't affect what you call the editors with this user right on your wiki. This is planned to happen in two weeks. You can comment in Phabricator if you have objections.

UFC 262 poster
@CASSIOPEIA I know how to upload the poster but do I need to add any info I’m at wiki common UFCFan26099292 (talk) 00:11, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- UFCFan26099292 Since it is the UFC event poster, you can upload it as a file in Wikipedia (File) instead of Wiki Common. Use this as the example (see in edit mode and change the poster and relevant info). Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 00:42, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you. Also I uploaded a file to Colby Covington and posted it to his page. Is it an okay file? UFCFan26099292 (talk) 00:53, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- Wait how would I edit/make it? UFCFan26099292 (talk) 00:57, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- UFCFan26099292 First of all I have change my user name from all high cap to sentence case more than a year ago. So you can called me Cassiopeia / Cass. Secondly, you dont need to ping me / or any editors if you write on their talk page as they will receive the notification anyway; however, you nee to ping the editor if you write a message in any other talk page (including your talk page) so they could receive the notification. Lastly, do add additonal ":" (colon} from the previous message thread for one space indentation to the right as this is the Wikipedia communication protocol in talk page to separate the messages.
- If Covington is an image you want to upload, then you need to do it in Wiki common. Make sure the image is free if copyright restriction, such as you are own the image (you are the one who took the photo), or the image is allowed to used under reusable Creative Commons CC BY license. Pls read Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Uploading images. I have uploaded all the UFC fighters Creative Commons CC BY license I could find so far and hope more could be allocated. Once you have uploaded the image in Wiki Common then you can copy the file name and add them in Wikipedia pages. Pls do not upload and image is where the image is strictly copyright protected. If the "file" you mentioned aready in Wikipedia or Wiki Common, you can add it on the fighter page. However, to say that, if the file or image is not free of copyright restricted (means it is file/image is a copyright violation), then the image eventually will be deleted from Wikipedia. Let me know if you have any questions and pls state them in details so I know what you mean. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:11, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Oh okay. UFCFan26099292 (talk) 02:15, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Could you train me in WP:CVUA?
Hello, I recently started editing on Wikipedia. I tend to edit a lot of political pages, so by nature it is prone to vandalism. I was wondering if you could train me in how to more easily spot vandalism and how to take it down effectively. Although English is not my first language, I always try to get better and better. Thank you very much, SaxyGuy (talk) 23:18, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- SaxyGuy Thank you for interested in CUVA program. The participate needs min 200 main space edits to join the program and you have only 35 total main edits at present - see here. Once you have reach more than 200 total main edits and you still want to participate in the program then let me know. In the mean time, pls complete WP:TWA to familiar some of the fundamental Wikipedia guidelines (only take 90-12 mins). Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:53, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
However to say all that, User Baroni has committed WP:Personal attack twice and it is very disappointing as User Baroni has been a long time editor and should know such comments - "dumb" and "chilean kunt" which the later clearly ponted toward you as you are from Chile, are not acceptable at all and against Wikipedia guidelines. I have placed a warning personal attack warning message on the editor talk page. Antonina Shevchenko
Just as a heads up, in Antonina's article you removed three sources instead of two like you said in the edit summary, and the only source you left up is the source you said was insufficient. I'm assuming that was a mistake, so it would be good if you added the 1 acceptable source back (idk which one you meant, so I can't do that myself). Diana056 (talk) 22:48, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
- Diana056 Actually 3 of the 4 sources are not reliable and and left the wrong one and I have restored the right one. Thank you for informing me. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:05, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
