  Hello, TimWu007. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 13:17, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hello, I live in Mainland China where almost all Wikimedia projects were blocked so I need to use the proxy to edit. I have requested and been granted IPBE permission on zhwiki and meta, but blocked on enwiki. I've requested IPBE permission on [1], but seems something wrong that my request was changed to IP block appeal and cannot change at this time. Thanks! Tim Wu (talk) 03:23, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Given your large edit count and crosswiki exemption, I'm granting it for 1 year. I haven't reviewed your email yet, so you may get a second reply there. Please rerequest via the email if you need it after that point. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 06:09, 16 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Tim, may I suggest following the steps at WP:IPECPROXY, i.e. email the checkuser team at checkuser-en-wp@wikipedia.org with your username, explaining why you need to edit via proxies? Kind regards, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 03:17, 15 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

The anon you reverted is busy again. Should the anon be templated? If so, for what? Cheers Adakiko (talk) 09:53, 11 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Adakiko. That paragraph was edited by me based on ref #60 and may be out of date, but it is the most recent of the published plans. I don't think this user is malicious. Maybe he updated the content based on other updated planning documents, but these materials do not appear to have been officially disclosed. So I think it's worth reminding him to follow Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:Verifiability. Regards, Tim Wu (talk) 10:32, 11 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Apple Pay Countries

edit

I noticed you reverted the countries that soon are going to support Apple Pay (Argentina, Chile and Peru). According to WP:VER it's fine to keep them since they are properly sourced to the portals of Apple LATAM and Apple Chile announcing they are coming soon.

If you would be so kind to tell me the rationale of not keeping them, I would be happy to discuss them in Talk:Apple Pay. Cheers --Pablo Alcayaga (talk) 14:55, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry that was supposed to read "aircraft with" not "aircraftwith". I must have removed the space when removing the "s". Fixed it now. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 00:37, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Antares600

edit

TimWu007, I have started a discussion at AN/I regarding Antares600's disruptive editing. I saw their edit war trying to ruin the layout of the XPeng article a few weeks ago. The thread is here if you have any input. --Sable232 (talk) 23:59, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Lough Swilly Hi, thanks for your comment. I just performed a rename request by other user at Wikimedia Commons which satisfied the renaming policy. If you have a better suggestion for its name, feel free to request per COM:MOVE. Best regards, Tim Wu (talk) 11:53, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

September 2024

edit

  Hi TimWu007! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Cfls (talk) 17:47, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Upcoming expiry of your ipblock-exempt right

edit

Hi, this is an automated reminder as part of Global reminder bot to let you know that your WP:IPBE right which gave you the ability to bypass IP address blocks will expire on 00:08, 17 October 2024 (UTC). If your IP is still blocked (which you can test by trying to edit when logged-out), please renew by following the instructions at the IPBE page; otherwise, you do not need to do anything. To opt out of user right expiry notifications, add yourself to m:Global reminder bot/Exclusion. Leaderbot (talk) 06:29, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
