Chemotherapy
editThe article entry says:
- "Chemotherapy as a treatment of cancer often relies on the ability of these agents to preferentially kill or damage cancer cells as opposed to healthy cells."
and points to ref. 7 where this ability of "preferential" damage is denied:
- "Chemotherapy drugs cannot tell the difference between reproducing cells of normal tissues (those that are replacing worn-out normal cells) and cancer cells. This means normal cells are damaged and this results in side effects." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.64.134.241 (talk) 12:47, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi stranger, agree, something not right here. First, ref 7 pointed to a PDF which is no longer available - referencing PDFs is in my view not recommended, so I switched it to the main site of ACS, which is fine enough for entry point.
- Next, a thesis is cited as (currently) ref 8. Once again not ideal. Thesis title is highly specific "Approaches to Photoactivated Cytotoxins (2006)" and used for a more general statement, which should see referencing from major works in the field, any student/postgrad book on Chemotherapy should work for this particular statement and maybe I'm going to add and replace it then. - Correction, it was ref 7 pointing to the thesis - and as said, this ref should be replaced. Ref 8 was pointing to ACS with a PDF which was updated. BR 17387349L8764 (talk) 12:42, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

* Rated "top" as important topic to understand molecular and cellular action of toxins, drugs, anti-viral and anti-cancer therapies, cytotoxic immune response etc. The article is a pitiful stub right now. - tameeria 01:10, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
