Split into OS and ILS
editThis entry is terrible. It is confusing, and in places, outright wrong. I would update it, but Wikipedia's antivandalism policies prevent me.
I think the main article should be moved to Dynix(Operating System), a new article created called Dynix(ILS), another new article created, SirsiDynix (the current name of the company). Then, the main entry should be turned into a disambiguation page.
SirsiDynix (which used to be two companies, Dynix and Sirsi) has nothing to do with the Unix operating system, Dynix. Their webpage should not be linked to in the info box, and I am thusly removing it.
The Dynix(Operating System) should be the info box and the first paragraph of the current article, and the second paragraph should be edited and pushed into two articles, the SirsiDynix article and the Dynix(ILS) article (ILS: Integrated Library System, this is the general name of the software SirsiDynix produces).
- I second the nearly year-old call to split this article. -Acjelen 22:29, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have split off all the ILS info (company and software) to SirsiDynix. And moved related info from this Talk to Talk:SirsiDynix. Nurg 08:40, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
SysV
editThis is still wrong. Dynix does not use SysV at all, It only has wrappers to interface with SysV. 192.219.104.10 17:28, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
