Lithuania

Cycling in Lithuania? It's on the rise! This Baltic state is certainly still an unknown destination to many cyclists. As one of Europe's least populated countries – only 3 million inhabitants in a territory twice the size of the Netherlands – there is a lot of nature to discover in Lithuania as well as some very charming towns. Did you know that there are about 6,000 lakes in Lithuania? When travelling in Lithuania by bike, make sure to visit the capital, Vilnius, and to ride in the old town's enchanting streets. Then head toward the coast to cycle the 98 km of the Curonian Spit, a long, thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea coast. This incredibly beautiful area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared by Lithuania and the Kaliningrad Oblast in Russia.

We do not have an official National EuroVelo Coordination Centre or Coordinator in this country at the moment. To assist people wanting to cycle the EuroVelo routes we have collected the information displayed on this page but please be aware that the ECF is not responsible for this content.
