KarmSolar is looking for a dynamic Government Relations Manager to join our team. The Government Relations Manager will be responsible for advising the company on a strategic level when it comes to government regulation and policy that affects the company’s core business and direction. They will act as the liaison between the company and governmental entities. The GR Manager is responsible for all permitting, licensing, approvals and processes required for all stages and all aspects of business and project development, execution, commissioning and operation. In addition, they will advise on and mitigate for any policy, regulations and laws that could influence current projects that are undergoing development as well as new products that are in the development stage. These include all policy changes that affect the financial, technical, or commercial aspects. The Government Relations Officer will represent KarmSolar and any of its companies with government agencies and regulators as well as lead any lobbying campaigns that help with the development of new products and solutions. Roles & Responsibilities: * Understanding of existing PV technologies and all its components, microgrids, gensets and batteries, electricity distribution, existing water desalination technologies, electric mobility and charging technologies, and business and financial models. * A deep understanding of energy, water, and electric mobility policies and law and how they affect KarmSolar's activities. * Attending government high level meetings with regards to different projects. * Fostering and building networks and relations with different governmental and legislative stakeholders. * Representing the company and all its SPVs in front of government entities. * Closely monitoring and flagging any policy/law changes that might affect KarmSolar’s business activities. * Sending out monthly policy briefs to the Project Development and Business Development teams as well as the Executive Committee regarding any policy changes with regards to energy, mobility, and water. Educational Background, Skills and Experience Required: * BSc/BA in any relevant discipline * 8+ years of experience working with or in government, politics, or a regulatory agency. * Ability to speak and write English and Arabic fluently * High attention to detail, organized and an ability to move/think fast * High networking and interpersonal skills * High communication skills both inside and outside the company * Managerial and leadership skills * Preferred: Pre-existing knowledge of the energy, water, mobility sector in Egypt and the MENA region Working Conditions: The position requires a combination of desk work and external visits to stakeholders.
