Infinity has signed an agreement with JK for Agricultural Investment to supply and install solar power stations for operating irrigation pumps and farm facilities, with a total capacity of 2.5 MW and investments amounting to EGP 34 million. The project will be implemented at the farm located in the Bahariya Oasis, Giza Governorate, and is part of Infinity’s ongoing efforts to support sustainable energy in Egypt's agricultural sector. The solar stations will operate on a hybrid system, combining solar energy with diesel generators, reducing diesel consumption by 35% and cutting carbon emissions by over 2,180 tons annually. Infinity is excited to announce the signing of an EPC contract with Arafa for Export and Import and Supplies to supply and install solar power stations for irrigation pumps. This project, located at the farm in Al-Farafra Oasis, New Valley Governorate, has a total capacity of 15 MW and investments amounting to 166 million Egyptian pounds. The contract was signed by Mr. Ashraf El Bishry, General Manager of Infinity, and Mr. Yasser Arafa, Chairman of Arfa for Export & Agricultural Development & Land Reclamation.   This initiative is the largest of its kind in Egypt for solar power applications in irrigation pump systems. As part of this collaboration, the consortium has signed a Framework Agreement with the Government of Egypt to initiate a series of studies and activities to assess the project’s technical and commercial feasibility. The signing ceremony, held at the Egypt EU Investment Conference in Cairo yesterday, saw the participation of the key signatories: Mohamed El-Khaiat, Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Authority; Ayman Soliman, CEO of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt; Walid Gamal Eldin, Chairman of Suez Canal Economic Zone; Mohamed I. Mansour, Chairman of Infinity Power; Nader Zaki, BP's Regional President, Middle East and North Africa; Andreas Bieringer, Director of Green Hydrogen Business Development and Commercial at Masdar; and Karim Hefzy, COO of Hassan Allam Utilities. The ceremony was also witnessed by distinguished officials, including Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt; and Dr. Hala H. Infinity Power, in partnership with Hassan Allam Utilities and Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), takes a major step by signing the Land Access Agreement with the Egyptian government for the 10GW capacity onshore wind farm project in Egypt. The initial project agreement to develop the 10 GW wind farm was signed between the consortium and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company and was witnessed by the presidents of the UAE and Egypt on the sidelines of the UN COP27 in late 2022. Set to be one of the world's largest onshore wind farm, with a value exceeding US$10 billion, this project marks a significant step towards Egypt's renewable energy goals. The agreement grants access to a 3025 km2 area in West Suhag, facilitating crucial development studies. Once operational, the wind farm will produce 47,790 GWh of clean energy annually, cutting Egypt's carbon emissions by 9%.
