We are thrilled to announce that Infinity Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cameroon West Regional Council to develop up to 4GW of renewable energy projects by 2035. This ambitious initiative underscores our commitment to expanding renewable energy across Africa, through a diverse mix of solar, wind, battery storage, hydro, and biomass technologies. The MoU was signed in Bafoussam, Cameroon, by Infinity Power's Deputy CEO, Mr. Ahmed MULLA and the President of the Cameroon West Regional Council, Dr. Jules Hilaire FOCKA FOCKA. The event was also attended by Dr. Vincent Kitio, Lead of Urban Energy Solutions, UN-Habitat, who will play a crucial role during the development of the project. Infinity Power is thrilled to announce our partnership with bp, Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), and Hassan Allam Utilities to explore the development of green hydrogen in Egypt. As part of this collaboration, the consortium has signed a Framework Agreement with the Government of Egypt to initiate a series of studies and activities to assess the project’s technical and commercial feasibility. The signing ceremony, held at the Egypt EU Investment Conference in Cairo yesterday, saw the participation of the key signatories: Mohamed El-Khaiat, Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Authority; Ayman Soliman, CEO of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt; Walid Gamal Eldin, Chairman of Suez Canal Economic Zone; Mohamed I. Mansour, Chairman of Infinity Power; Nader Zaki, BP's Regional President, Middle East and North Africa; Andreas Bieringer, Director of Green Hydrogen Business Development and Commercial at Masdar; and Karim Hefzy, COO of Hassan Allam Utilities. The ceremony was also witnessed by distinguished officials, including Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt; and Dr. Hala H. Elsaid, Minister of Planning and Economic Development. The project aims to develop green hydrogen and its derivatives, focusing on exports and contributing to Egypt's sustainable energy goals. Infinity Power Chairman Mohamed I. Mansour spoke at the Egypt EU Investment Conference in Cairo, yesterday. This pivotal event brought together policy makers, investment project promoters, and financial institutions to discuss the deployment of renewable power generation and the growth of the nascent hydrogen industry in Egypt. During his session, Mohamed Ismail Mansour discussed our project with Copelouzos Group: GREGY —a transformative initiative for the electrical interconnection of Egypt and Greece through a 3,000 MW submarine cable. The project aims to transmit 100% green energy from Egypt to Europe, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and providing alternative clean energy sources. This project aligns perfectly with Infinity Power's commitment to fostering sustainable energy solutions and addressing global climate challenges. Moustapha Thiam, Director of West Africa, Business Development at Infinity Power, participated in a critical session at the Africa Energy Forum (AEF) 2024 addressing ‘Financing & Derisking Investment in African Clean Energy Infrastructure’. The session featured other key figures from across the industry and was hosted by GIZ. The session examined the state of energy infrastructure in Africa, strategies for de-risking investments, and improving access to finance. It also provided an overview of the global clean energy infrastructure financing landscape and discussed ways to develop finance architecture to address risks effectively. Bernard Kiernan, Chief Investment Officer of Infinity Power, contributed to the session ‘Advancing Renewable Energy Projects for Sustainable Value Chains’ at the Africa Energy Forum (AEF) 2024. The discussion, chaired by Jo Sykes, Partner at Trinity International, focused on progressing solar projects across the continent to meet rising demands. Topics covered included the progress of projects discussed in 2023, new projects expected to be launched in the year ahead, hurdles faced across projects, solutions for tackling intermittency issues and emerging procurement structures.
