Last week, members of our Life Sciences team conducted an insightful training session on the “Pharmaceuticals Industry in Egypt” for the Legal Clinic Students at The British University in Egypt as part of Amazon Egypt’s pro bono initiatives under “Project Horus”.   They covered topics such as the pharmaceuticals’ description, classification, supply chain, and promotion under the current Egyptian laws and regulations.   Additionally, the team provided practical insights into the legal status of pharmaceuticals’ online trading, highlighting the current challenges and foreseen workarounds in this respect.   We thank our team members Fagr M., Ahmed Yasser Nasr, Hannah Mahran, and Mohamed Ahmed Awny for their contributions. As part of Amazon Egypt’s pro bono initiatives under “Project Horus,” we’re excited to highlight their role in organising training sessions for the new cohort of volunteers at the The British University in Egypt (BUE). These sessions are designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge.   Alia Monieb, Partner and Head of Employment, led an insightful and practical session on the "Fundamentals of Labour Law" for the Legal Clinic. She provided both theoretical and hands-on guidance on drafting legal opinions, addressing client requests, and navigating labour law regulations. We acted as local counsel regarding Egyptian law for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development(EBRD) on signing an extension loan agreement of EGP 341 million with Abou Ghaly Motors (AGM). This loan will support AGM in acquiring up to 100 Range-Extended Electric Vehicles to be operated as private taxis under the company's London Cab Egypt services.   AGM's new fleet will drive the company's growth along a more sustainable path, encouraging a cleaner, eco-friendly mode of transport in Egypt.
