About us
Defence Estonia Cluster is a network for international cooperation and export to enhance the cooperation between Estonian companies, R&D institutions and clients (triple helix). Cluster and its members participate in international projects and programs to increase export capability and sales of the Estonian companies on the defence and security markets. The aim is to promote innovation in the defence and security industry and to develop new and highly competitive products and services for export. Defence Estonia Cluster project is co-financed by European Regional Development Fund (support measure for the development of Enterprise Estonia clusters). The total cost of the project is 1 200 000 euros, of which the grant is 50% (600 000 euros). Defence Estonia Cluster has five focus areas: - COMPETENCE BUILDING - MARKETS - INNOVATION - FINANCING - PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association participates in the Eurosatory fair in #Paris, where a total of 16 companies from the association and the cluster are represented. The exhibits of Estonian companies have attracted a great deal of attention and the stands have been visited by an international crowd. These include a #Japanese business delegation, a delegation from the #Swedish Defence Industry Association, the Japanese National Acquisitions Technology and Logistics Agency, the Safran delegation led by Isabelle DESJEUX (Director of Strategy, Innovation and Technology), a delegation from the #Indian defence industry and Fujitsu in Defence and National Security. The meetings have provided an opportunity to showcase innovative solutions from our member companies and to create new opportunities for cooperation. The EKTL will continue to actively participate in the fair in order to strengthen the international position of the Estonian defence industry and to expand its network. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH A UKRAINIAN COMPANY BRINGS ORDERS WORTH A MILLION ASAX Innovation has reached a cooperation agreement with the Ukrainian defense industry company SkyLab Defence Robotics. This is a relatively young company, founded in 2022 by Yevhenii Rvachov, who has extensive business experience. In Ukraine, this company is currently known for its small UGV, Sirko-S 1, primarily used as a mining drone in areas where people do not want to go. Initially, it was agreed that ASAX Innovation and SkyLab would jointly develop UGV radio control systems. However, the areas of cooperation soon expanded. Today, ASAX Innovation also represents the Sirko-S1 UGV in Europe and supports SkyLab with strategic supplies from outside Ukraine. Our collaboration recently gained even more momentum when SkyLab received a large order for the production of Sirko-S1 and the bomber drone Djura Mk6. To fulfill this order, SkyLab and ASAX have decided that part of the production will take place in Estonia. In any case, this development illustrates ASAX Innovation's strategy towards portfolio diversification and greater flexibility. Currently, we can say that we have three products, two of which have already proven themselves in Ukraine, and our Estonian-conceived ASAX H-1 will go for combat testing there next month.
