Talent Plastics Tartu took for the first time part in a seminar organised by the Estonian Electronics Industries Association and supporting companies in the industry. It is interesting to hear the insight from the segment, what is the market currently struggling with but most importantly - what can be expected for the coming year. The event is ongoing but already worth talking about. #electronics #electronicsindustry #industryinsight #talentplastics

Dear followers! It has been some time since our last post! Time goes by so fast after holidays (what holiday, right?). We are now in our usual work mode and face with confidence the coming autumn and winter but during these everyday work assignments, it is good to share some insightful news and topics. Therefor, today, the topic is sustainability. Plastics Europe shares a great article on why plastics is crucial in Europe for sustainability and even in improving the economic situation. "The plastics system helps to boost Europe’s economy. In 2022, the European plastics system employed over 1.5 million people in the EU, spanned 52,000 companies and had a turnover of over €400 billion. European plastics manufacturers contributed around 130,000 jobs across 2,248 companies and a turnover of over €118 billion to that total." The rest you can read from the article. Enjoy! :) #talentplastics #sustainability #plasticseurope #plasticisfantastic #forabettertomorrow

Dear colleagues, business partners and followers! This week Talent Plastics Tartu starts with the much awaited summer holiday. During the period of 15.07-04.08, the Tartu Talents: 1) explore emails such as hotel room bookings to Portugal, Malta or maybe even another city in Estonia; 2) receive packages from Amazon or local providers as during holidays Estonians usually think its the best time to start renovating the house; 3) produce grilled food more then one should in a short period of time per person. Scrap rate will be 0, nothing will remain without use and usually there is high precision operating at the grill; 4) discuss whether to go to the beach or hike this time around. Could be the toughest discussion of them all as the weather promises to be nice (fingers crossed!). Being outside is a non negotiable; 5) and many more fulfilling and important tasks. Suffice to say, there is much to do but we try to rest as well to come back and be ready to tackle the work related tasks as actively as the mentioned list above. We wish you all a great holiday and fun summer! We all need and deserve it :) #talentplastics #summerholidays

Hey! Early sunny greeting from Vilnius! Yesterday our sales manager Laura Kaur visited the Automotive Industry Forum in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was a great event to hear about the latest trends in the (and connected) industry but also was a great platform to discuss also the challenges the industry faces today and in the future. Some thoughts to take from the event: 1) The green deal - a lot was spoken why sustainability is important and could be an advantage. On the other side, it was highlighted that it is still costly to invest in the needed new technology, which is somewhat a showstopper. Eventually, all the changes and therefor the costs will be visible in the prices that the end customer has to cover. Shortly put: how to be sustainable and align with the goals for zero emission while still keeping the product/service in an affordable range for the end customer - this will be the main challenge companies have to face in the coming years. 2) China - some years back, the automotive industry companies had a good position in the EU market and had many big development plans (a rephrased thought mentioned during the presentation by the Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communication). Now, with the new EU regulations and China coming to the market with more affordable electric cars, compared to EU companies, there is a big shift in the industry as Chinese companies are taking a bigger market share. Therefor: how can European companies be competitive today and in the future when Chinese companies are more ahead with technological development and are less costly for the consumer? There was a thought to try adopt with it, cooperate with the Chinese but most importantly, one must try to find innovative ideas. Suffice to say, it is not an easy task. Regardless of the fact that the situation on the market is tricky due to a number of reasons, it was motivating to see how the leading companies in the industry have still big plans for the future and a vision. And, one must say, very impressive growth plans! What did Talent take from this event? Firstly, it was a great opportunity to network and meet the people in the industry. Secondly, given the topics and what the speakers mentioned, it was a brilliant insight where to look and put resources in as a supplier to automotive industry companies. From business development perspective, it was a good event to get leads, of course :) And lastly, a thought from the presentation the CEO of Hella Lithuania made: "The glass is not half empty or half full, there is no glass. Start to think outside of the box." With this thought we at Talent wish you all a nice brainstorming weekend! They say relaxing helps to boost productivity, so this must be done properly as well. Have a great weekend! #talentplastics #automotiveindustry #innovation #foodforthought #fridaymotivation https://lnkd.in/dFKMAmnq

Grantee of scholarship in Tartu At the end of 2015, Talent Plastics Tartu founded a scholarship to support technical students of VOCO (Tartu Rakenduslik kolledž) so that they can focus on their studies. The scholarship has the value of 1000€ and is awarded once a year. Grantee of Talent Plastics Tartu scholarship in 2024 was awarded to Karl-Martin Teppand. He is a second year mechatronics specialty student with an average grade of 5. He is one of the best students on his course, often helping his classmates in their studies by explaining things that were not understood in class. In addition to teaching, he also works at the University of Life Sciences, where he also works on various projects and participates in research on a smaller scale. He also actively contributes to the everyday school life. He is planning to use the scholarship to fulfill his dreams.
