📌 Earlier this week, on Monday, 2 September, our founder and Managing Director, Kwaku Sumah participated to the #NewSpaceHorizons Conference – Africa and the Middle East, hosted by the EgSA-Egyptian Space Agency ❗ The inaugral conference, hosted in El Alamein, Egypt, brought together Heads of Space Agencies, industry leaders, and top government officials from Africa and the Middle East. Kwaku Sumah participated to the panel discussion on Innovative Models for Public-Private Sector Collaboration. Here are a few key takeaways he mentioned 📢 ✍ Emerging space nations should look to involve existing companies from industries adjacent to the space industry. Several industries such as manufacturing are essential to build a thriving space economy, but often do not realise that their expertise is required. ✅ Public institutions can play a significant role in unlocking private capital when they fund private sector activities, especially in the seed phase. Private investors are typically not able to judge the technical, technological, market, and duration risks, and as of yet don't see a path to a future exit. Public funding can help bridge the gap and act as a seal of approval to the market.
