Our team has interviewed over 500 talented professionals for the most varied roles. If you nail these 7 things, you’re impressing interviewers and improving your chances of getting a call for the next round: 📌 If you’re going to be late or can’t make it, let the interviewer/recruiter know beforehand. Even sending a quick message 5 minutes before is more valuable than leaving someone waiting in a vacuum of... nothing. 📌Always arrive 5-10 minutes early to the Google Meet/Teams/Zoom link where you’re going to have the interview and test camera/audio. You don’t want to be testing your setup during the interview. It shows a lack of preparation. 📌Please be presentable. Don’t dress for a gala, but please at least look presentable. We’ve had some candidates appear shirtless to interviews, and... well, that shows their level of seriousness in their job search. 📌Research the company and your interviewer - check the website, see their social media, and try to understand what is it the company is doing at the moment. Also, research the interviewer at least to familiarize yourself with their name and face. 📌Always have 2-3 questions for the interviewer prepared. Don’t come with the “I don’t have any questions” reply, as it shows a lack of interest and can reflect badly in the interview. 📌Be authentic and don’t be afraid to show your personality - you’re not a robot. You’d be surprised by how some choices between “candidate A” or “candidate B” with the same skillset end up being decided by their personalities. 📌Don’t badmouth previous employers - Yes, they may have been awful but remember, the recruiter/interviewer doesn’t want to know that.
