Good job! This is a passing score. Do you want to try again?
Unfortunately, this is not a passing score. Do you want to try again?
#1. If it feels like your tires have lost traction with the surface of the road, you should:
When the road surface is wet, you should slow down to avoid hydroplaning. Hydroplaning means that your tires lose contact with the road surface and actually ride on the film of water. Hydroplaning reduces traction and increases stopping distance. Turning is more hazardous. Ease off the gas and slow down gradually.
#2. A pedestrian has entered a crosswalk where there are no signs or signals. Who has the right of way?
Always yield to people crossing the roadway, whether the crosswalk is marked or unmarked. Be especially alert in school zones and high-traffic pedestrian areas.
#3. If your car stalls on railroad tracks and you cannot restart it:
If your vehicle stalls on the tracks, all occupants should exit the vehicle immediately and get off the tracks. If no train is in sight, post lookouts and try to start the vehicle or push it off the tracks.
#4. If you are convicted of displaying or possessing a driver's license that is fictitious or altered, it will result in:
The Oklahoma Legislature has given the Department of Public Safety Identity Verification Unit new tools to combat fake identification cards and driver licenses by allowing the cancellation of any identification card or driver’s license for some violations, including: possessing a license or identification card issued to you that has altered information for the date of birth, expiration date, sex, height, eye color, weight or license card number.
#5. Which of the following improves safety and helps you avoid letting the cell phone become a deadly distraction while driving:
Cellular car phones require that you take one hand off the wheel. Talking on the phone takes your mind off of the road and your driving. Studies show that complex phone conversations can affect your ability to respond to changing traffic conditions.
- Whenever possible, pull off the road before calling from your car.
- Do not unbuckle your seat belt to reach for a phone.
- Use the memory dial function and voice-activated dialing when possible to avoid taking your eyes off the road.
- Do not allow the phone to distract or disturb you while driving.
- Do not eat, drink, light a cigarette, read, or write while you talk and drive.
- Make your calls as short as possible, know when to hang up.
- Ask your passenger to handle all phone calls for you.
- Know your own limits. If you recognize that using a car phone distracts you from driving safely, limit your use or simply pull off the road when you are on the phone.
- State law requires drivers to devote full time and attention to driving. You may be ticketed if involved in an accident while using a cellular phone.
#6. In this picture, car A may pass the vehicle ahead:
A dashed yellow line separates lanes of traffic moving in opposite directions. Stay to the right of the line, unless you are passing. When passing, you may cross this line temporarily when it is safe to do so.
#7. In which situation are you allowed to pass a school bus?
Remember, under special circumstances, an officer may be directing the flow of traffic. If so, obey the officer’s signals instead of the normal traffic signals or signs.
#8. What does the basic speed rule mean?
The basic speed does not set an exact speed limit but means that the speed you may drive is limited by the current conditions. Your speed must always be careful and prudent (using skill and good judgment). It must also be reasonable and proper, not too fast and not too slow, for the current conditions. You must not drive so slowly that you block, hinder, or interfere with other vehicles moving at normal speeds. Always adjust your speed to conditions so you can stop within a clear distance head.
#9. You can park your car:
You can park more than 30 feet of traffic signal.
Do not park your car in front of a public or private driveway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, or on a bridge.
#10. To avoid glare from the high-beam headlights of an approaching car:
Avoid glare from oncoming lights by looking down to the right hand edge.
Do not wear sunglasses or colored glasses when driving at night or on dark days. Glare from oncoming headlights, billboard and advertising lights, and in some conditions, from streetlights, can interfere with your night driving vision because your eyes take longer to adjust. Colored lenses cause your eyes to adjust even more slowly and can reduce your vision.
#11. What does GDL stand for?
GDL stands for Graduated Driver License. The GDL program gradually phases in driving privileges for new teen drivers as they gain experience behind the wheel.
#12. When passing a motorcycle:
You should not try to share a lane with a motorcycle, and you should respect its space and position in traffic. Pass as you would pass a car, and do not pass too close or too fast, as the blast of air can blow a motorcycle out of control.
#13. When there is an oncoming car to your left and a child on a bicycle to your right on a two-way road, you should:
Avoid passing between a bicyclist and oncoming vehicles on a two-lane road. Slow down and allow vehicles to pass. Then move to the left to allow plenty of room to pass the rider safely. Remember, never pass a bicycle if the street is too narrow. Wait until there is enough room to let you pass safely.
#14. When following a large truck that blocks your view ahead, you should:
When following a large vehicle, stay far enough back so you can see the roadway ahead clearly. You should also make sure the other driver can see you. A truck’s blind spots are immediately in front, on either side of the cab, and up to 200 feet in the rear.
Trucks take longer to stop than cars because of their size. But at higher speeds or on wet pavement, they may have better traction and be able to stop more quickly than a car. If you are following too closely, you may not be able to stop in time to avoid rear-ending the truck.
#15. When making a right turn, you should do all the following except:
Avoid swinging wide by moving wide to the left before going into the turn. If you swing wide, the driver behind you may think you are changing lanes or turning left and may try to pass you on the right.
(This question asked what you should not do).
#16. Which signs have the shape of a four-sided diamond?
Four-sided diamond-shaped signs warn you of existing or possible hazards on roadways or adjacent areas.
#17. To be convicted of DUI (Driving Under the Influence) if you are 21 or older, your BAC level:
Whether or not a BAC test indicates you are legally intoxicated is not the real issue. Impairment of judgment and skill begins well below the legal limit. Observations and information gathered by the arresting officer are also evidence that may be used in court and can result in a conviction without a BAC test. Oklahoma law prohibits driving a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or other substances. An alcohol concentration in excess of 0.05 is relevant evidence that the driver’s ability to drive was impaired.
#18. Which of the following must you obey over the other two?
Directions given by traffic officers take precedence over signs, signals or pavement markings.
#19. When you see this warning sign, you should:
Emphasis has been given to the school and school crosswalk signs through the use of a pentagon shape and the fluorescent yellow-green color.
#20. Which step in the IPDE process refers to scanning your surroundings and look for potential hazards?
IPDE is a step-by-step process behind the principles of defensive driving. IPDE stands for:
- I – Identify potential hazards.
- P – Predict what could happen (always predict the worst).
- D – Decide on a course of action.
- E – Execute your decision.
#21. It is a wet and foggy morning. You should drive slower and turn on your:
Adjust your speed when you encounter rain, snow, ice, fog, smoke, or dust. Always turn on your headlights when visibility is not normal.
#22. What does this sign mean?
The Left Turn Only sign tells you that you can only turn left from this lane.
#23. What does this sign mean?
Pedestrian crossing. This sign tells you that you are near an area where a large number of pedestrians cross the street. Slow down and watch for people crossing the street on foot. Pedestrians in crosswalks must be given the right-of-way at all times.
#24. This sign means:
Stop signs are always octagonal (8-sided). A stop sign means that you must bring your vehicle to a complete halt at the marked stop line. If there is no marked stop line, stop before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection. If there is no crosswalk, stop at a point nearest the intersecting roadway where you have a clear view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering the intersection.
#25. When a traffic signal is showing a flashing red light, you must:
Flashing red signals are used at dangerous intersections where the crossing traffic may or may not stop. A flashing red light means the same as a stop sign. You may go when it’s safe to cross the intersection.

All questions are the same or similar to real Oklahoma written knowledge test questions, and all answers are in the latest Oklahoma Driver’s Manual.

If you miss a question, a brief comment will help you understand why your answer was wrong.
Oklahoma Real Knowledge Tests – 50 Questions
Please note that the official knowledge test in Oklahoma has 50 random questions about road signs, traffic signals, safe driving techniques, and Oklahoma traffic laws. The real test will take slightly longer to complete.
Questions on the actual exam are from the latest version of the Oklahoma Driver’s Manual. Therefore, you should always get the newest version of the Oklahoma Driver’s Manual.
You can get the manual for a small fee at Motor License agents (Tag Agents ).
You can also download a free PDF version from oklahoma.gov .
After reading the manual and learning the basic driving rules, you should familiarize yourself with the practice tests.
The passing score in Oklahoma is 80 percent, which means you must answer at least 40 of the 50 questions correctly.
Getting 80 percent on the practice test is also good. But aiming for a full score on each practice test is better. Ensure you fully understand why an answer is correct (or incorrect); it will help on the exam.
Remember, all our tests are 100% free. So, take enough tests to feel comfortable with all answers.
The examination format has (in general) stayed consistent over the last decade. It helps you understand what kind of knowledge the DPS checks for., which can be just as important as learning the content.

Who Must Take the Oklahoma Knowledge Test?
All persons applying for an original first-time Oklahoma license must pass the knowledge test.
If you want to renew a license that expired more than three years, you must retake all tests, including the written knowledge exam.
When you want to transfer a valid (not expired) out-of-state license to an Oklahoma driver’s license, DPS will waive written and driving tests if the license meets department standards.
If you have an out-of-country license, you must generally take all tests. Exemptions exist for drivers with a driver’s license from Canada or Germany who must pass only the vision screening.
You cannot get a driver’s license or permit if your driving privilege has been canceled, suspended, or revoked in Oklahoma or any other state.
The Official Exam
As we already said, you can find all answers to the questions on the Class D license exam in the official Driver’s Manual. That is why you should make sure you read it.
The test has questions about Oklahoma traffic laws, safe driving practices, traffic signs and signals, and drug and alcohol laws/effects.
If you need an oral test instead of a computerized one, call ahead and make an appointment.
Unlike many other states, the test is only available in English and Spanish. You can bring an interpreter if needed. Oklahoma DPS will not pay for the interpreter.
Appointments
Avoid the inconvenience of standing in line at the DPS. The new scheduling service offers the opportunity to make appointments from your mobile device or computer.
Unfortunately, there is a small fee for using the online scheduling system.
