Measurement of Common Prosperity Level and Coupling Coordination Analysis from the perspective of Chinese Modernization

Published: 29 May 2024 Publication History

Abstract

On the basis of integrating the connotation of Chinese modernization, based on the panel data of 31 provinces and municipalities in the past five years, this paper screens 29 indicators to build a common prosperity index system. The Entropy Weight TOPSIS Method calculated the score of common prosperity. The Coupling Coordination Degree Model empirically analyzed the evolution of coordination degree and common prosperity level of the two sub-systems. The results show that: (1) Most of the provinces with a higher level of common prosperity are located in the eastern region, while most of the provinces with a lower level are located in the central region. (2) The coordination degree of the two major sub-systems of the national common wealth level is still low, but the coordination degree gap of the three major regions is gradually narrowing. Based on the above research, this text puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote common prosperity from five aspects, such as synchronous development and public culture.
