Spatial Information System on The Distribution of Housing and Settlement Facilities

Abstract

Regional Development Planning Board of Musi Banyuasin Regency in the field of research and development responsible for mapping housing and settlement facilities but constrained on data management systems that are still static, uncentralized data, absence of geographic coordinates, and the lack of information obtained by the community on housing and settlement facilities in Sekayu City. This research aims to provide a spatial information system that can manage the distribution of housing and settlement facilities in Sekayu City. To support the research, researcher conducted observation, interview, and literature review as methods of data collection. In addition, Rapid Application Development (RAD) used as a system development method up to the testing phase with Unified Modeling Language (UML) as a tool for system descriptions and design. The programming language used in this research is PHP with MySQL database. As for the mapping of facilities implemented with Google Maps. This research resulted a web-based spatial information system that can assist users in managing and accessing information about housing and settlement facilities in Sekayu City to be displayed in the form of interactive digital maps.
