Spin and roll: convex solids of revolution as playful interface

Published: 27 November 2017 Publication History

Abstract

We present an interactive system that uses convex solids of revolution as playful interface manipulated on tabletop display. Interaction is based on the unique movements of the solids such as rolls and spins in addition to usual pointing and dragging. Touching of the solids on the display is detected by a sensor-sheet and used for applications. We developed some contents such as a draw tool and gaming applications that make full use of the solids.
