Magic Lenses for Augmented Virtual Environments

Published: 01 July 2006 Publication History

Abstract

The authors developed a Magic Lens framework for Scape, an augmented virtual environment (AVE). They generalize the functional characteristics of Magic Lenses in terms of 3D visualization in AVEs and present two tangible Magic Lens-enabled devices with complementary interface capabilities. The authors also demonstrate their Magic Lens devices through testbed applications relevant to urban planning and medical training.
