Standing on stage at The Rockefeller Foundation AsiaXchange 2024 felt like being part of something bigger. It struck me as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we collaborate beyond the usual boundaries. I stood alongside people who are just as committed to green growth and resilience as I am, and it really drove home the potential of regional partnerships that go deeper and wider than traditional setups. We’re talking about partnerships that aren’t just about governments and businesses, but also include communities, activists, and academics. A great example is Southeast Asia's Energy Transition Partnership (ETP). Working with local governments, we’ve helped develop renewable energy policies that have led to real change - like Vietnam’s rapid expansion in solar and wind power, cutting down on fossil fuel dependency and creating new jobs. Another is the Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia project. It’s about eight countries coming together to tackle waste management. This isn’t just about policy - it’s about communities, businesses, and governments all finding solutions together that actually work. For me, the biggest takeaway from this event was seeing the power of regional collaboration in action. It’s not just about formal partnerships - it’s about equitable, practical solutions that bring together every sector, every voice, and tackle our toughest challenges head-on. Congratulations to the Rockefeller Foundation for organising this significant event.
