🔑 How can you unlock great experiences for developers? Our colleague Thomas Vitale Software Engineer and Architect, has the key for you! In his presentation at KCD Munich, a vibrant platform for cloud-native tech enthusiasts, he pointed out, together with Mauricio Salatino, what it takes for "Unlocking New Platform Experiences With Open Interfaces". Thomas analyzed existing CNCF projects and looked into how you can implement an end-to-end experience and support teams from idea to production, using a “function-as-a-service” example. 🎙 Reflecting on the session, he said “We got much positive feedback about our session and a very engaged audience. We continued the conversation during the rest of the event, discussing developer experience on Kubernetes and how the CNCF can support that via the new Application Development Working Group for which I’m co-chair.”. AI looks amazing on paper – but reality may differ... The reason? Even though AI-technologies such as image recognition works well with “ideal” data, it struggles with realistic military data, e.g. photos of tanks in the field, taken under chaotic circumstances. “There are too many nuances in the image material. Even if you had a complete photo index of all tanks in the world and had trained the perfect AI model to identify them, tanks out in the field can look totally different. Their crews attach all kinds of gear to them, ranging from shovels to specialist nets for protection against drones and anti-tank missiles,” explains Søren Løfquist Stiil, AI Architect working on our defence software SitaWare. He and his colleagues have taken up the challenge; testing AI again and again, using realistic data. All to help our soldiers leverage AI-technology's potential for decision support.
