🚢 Our Marine Fleet has welcomed IVY! 🌊 We are proud to announce the arrival of the new member of our marine fleet for the Femernbelt Tunnel Project for Femern A/S The latest to join us is IVY, consisting of two custom-built Immersion Pontoons (IVY 1 & IVY 2), designed specifically for the transport and immersion of the project’s 89 massive tunnel elements. These floating giants feature the following impressive dimensions: 📏 Length:100 metres ↔️ Width: 45 metres 🏋️ Lifting capacity: 8,000 t. 🔌 66 fully synchronized winches. 👷♂️ Crew: 22 With final commissioning underway and following the offshore trials, we’ll be fine-tuning IVY to ensure it is fully prepared for the immersion phase. First special element pushed ✨   The Fehmarnbelt Tunnel by FLC for Femern A/S is built of 79 standard tunnel elements and 10 special elements. 🚧 The first of the 10 special elements is fully cast and ready to be pushed from the casting area to the upper basin of the Work Harbour. 🤩 But moving a concrete colossus of 24,000 tons is no small feat. 🤔 Two large pushers with two pistons each gently shoved the element towards the destination at a speed of 13 meters per hour. ⏳ After 12 hours, the journey is completed and the proud team of FLC employees could see many years of effort bear fruit. 🥳💪 The special element now rests in the upper basin. Here, it will be readied to be picked up by the Immersion Pontoon and set sail for the tunnel trench.   💡 Facts: ⚠The special elements weigh 24,000 tons (a standard element weighs 73,000 tons). 🛠All the technical equipment of the tunnel will be placed in the special elements (water, ventilation, electricity etc.) 📏The special elements are shorter than the standard elements, but they are 5 meters wider to make room for a lay-by with elevators in one of the motorway tubes and 4 meters higher due to the basement with room for the equipment. 🚆 There will be a special element for every 2,5 kilometers in the tunnel #Femernbelt #Femernproject #FLC Sund & Bælt Holding A/S VINCI Construction Grands Projets Per Aarsleff A/S Firmengruppe Max Bögl BAM Infra Nederland Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG Soletanche Bachy CFE DEME Group

Vintage wheels at FLC Village 🚗 🚘 On Saturday 17 August FLC for Femern A/S invited #Lolland-Falster Veteranklub to show their beautiful vintage cars and motorcycles. Residents living at the FLC Village stopped by to admire and photograph the polished exteriors and roaring engines. ⚙🥰 Weather was perfect for ice cream along with the engines from a past era as the cars could both be seen and heard. At FLC for Femern A/S, our skilled employees are dealing with unexpected challenges every day building an immersed tunnel in a scale the world hasn't seen before. 💪   But this Monday, a very tiny animal presented us with a whole new challenge. A swarm of bees had moved into one of our pick-up trucks parked by the big factory halls. 🐝 🐝 🐝 😲   Our team acted quickly and called the local beekeeper, Anker Skov. He gently coerced the queen bee 👑 out of the truck, and her big entourage followed.   Now the little workers are producing honey in Anker’s garden, and we can concentrate our efforts building the largest immersed tunnel in the world. 🍯   #Femernbelt #Femernproject #Savethebees
