Over several years ESVAGT has built a strong collaboration with the schooner 'Fulton of Marstal'. By working together with Fulton, we help young people through visits to the shipping company to find direction and motivation in their lives, which can lead to a possible career in shipping. This year, ESVAGT had a visit from Fulton before the autumn break, where crew and students had the opportunity to experience our work up close and gain insight into life on board an ESVAGT vessel. Crew members from ESVAGT CARPATHIA visited Fulton to gain more knowledge about life on board Fulton. As part of this collaboration, Jonas Sørensen had a unique opportunity to intern for a week on ESVAGT BETA. Jonas is a 15-year-old student at Spangsberg School, who also sails with Fulton, spending 14 days at a time on each location. On ESVAGT BETA, Jonas got to try his strength at a range of exciting tasks on board. Together with Benny and Dennis, who are able ship assistants on ESVAGT BETA, they threw a heaving line when docking, unpacked stores, helped with the maintenance of fire and safety equipment, performed general maintenance on the vessel, loaded and unloaded, sailed the FRB in the harbor, and generally assisted with all kinds of tasks on board. One of the most memorable experiences for Jonas was a 24-hour trip at sea, something he had never tried before. Previously, he was tired of school and lacked motivation to take his exam, but now he has found new motivation, knowing that he needs it to get a job and go sailing when he turns 18. Jonas was very happy with his internship, and when we asked him what the best part of the experience was, he replied: "The best part was my cabin and having a private room. On Fulton, we sleep in hammocks in a common room." From the beginning of the new year, a new ship 'Fulton Energi' is expected to become a reality with base in Esbjerg. It will be a day offer for young people up to 24 years old in Esbjerg. On the ship, the young people will work with practical maritime tasks in the ship's workshops, general maintenance of the ship, and much more, as well as sail shorter trips in the local area. ESVAGT already has a good collaboration with the new ship. We wish Jonas all the best and hope for a new future colleague at ESVAGT. 🚢✨

Staying Updated at Floating Offshore Wind 2024  Floating offshore wind is poised to revolutionise wind energy by allowing power generation in waters deeper than 60 meters. Experts predict that 80% of future offshore wind farms will use floating foundations – and indeed already a number of planned UK projects will use this technology. Despite significant technical challenges in building turbines and servicing these wind farms, the prospects are exciting. At the Floating Offshore Wind 2024 conference in Aberdeen earlier this month, ESVAGT engaged with suppliers, OEMs, and developers to discuss gangway systems and safe boat transfers, leveraging our 15+ years of experience as a market leader in offshore wind service. Exciting times ahead! Picture: Official Floating Offshore Wind Photography

MAJOR MILESTONE FOR CO2 STORAGE: PROJECT GREENSAND 🌍 400,000 tons of CO2 – equivalent to the annual emissions of 50,000 Danes – can potentially be stored annually in depleted oil and gas fields in the North Sea as early as 2025, significantly reducing the carbon footprint in Denmark. With an annual target of 8 million tons of CO2 stored annually from 2030 – equivalent to the emission of 1 million people or 20 percent of all Danes – the Greensand Project has a lot to offer. Tonight, at 20.00 HRS (CET), Peter Ingemann from TV2's STØRST (national TV) explores the potential of CO2 storage (CCS) by visiting INEOS Energy and the Siri field in Project Greensand in the North Sea. ESVAGT is proud to be one of the 23 partners who have been active in the Greensand consortium: "Storing CO2 in the underground is of great importance for reaching Europe's climate goals. We are proud to be able to contribute to the project," says Nils Overgaard, Head of Special Projects at ESVAGT.

WE HAVE LIFT OFF... AND A LANDING! The Flexible Offshore Drone for Wind–project – FOD4Wind in short – has reached a landmark by enabling the first autonomous drone takeoff and landing from an SOV in an offshore wind farm.   This is an important milestone on our journey towards delivering small packages to the wind turbine technician without the need for mobilizing the SOV.  This is very important to the business case and in driving out costs in offshore wind energy. At ESVAGT, we are delighted to help push the boundaries for innovative solutions in offshore wind – especially with partners like Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark and Siemens Gamesa in a project facilitated under the Energy Cluster Denmark umbrella and backed by EUDP - Det Energiteknologiske Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram funding. Thanks to Danske Rederier (Danish Shipping) for giving this project attention – in this video, Benjamin Mejnertz from Upteko and Nils Overgaard from ESVAGT explains the significant impact the autonomous drone deliveries will have.

Læs mere om nyheden her: https://lnkd.in/d_UejH73    Partnerne i Project Greensand er: INEOS Energy, Wintershall Dea (nu Habour Energy), Noble CorporationGEUS, INOES Oxide, Blue Water ShippingSemco MaritimeRambollDan-Unity CO2Geelmuyden KieseSLB and SLB and Aker Carbon Capture Joint VentureWelltecResen WavesWind Power LABESVAGT A/SDTU - Technical University of Denmark Kemi, SpotLight EarthTGSTeknologisk InstitutDHIUniversity of Southampton og National Oceanography Centre.   Projektet faciliteres af Energy Cluster Denmark. 🐟 Biodiversity research trip to the Danish North Sea 🐟   A team of researchers from DHI and TotalEnergies have set sail to collect data near the Danish Underground Consortium’s (DUC) offshore installations.   The team will pick up the underwater sensors at our Skjold field, which were placed last summer with DTU Offshore - Danish Offshore Technology Centre, DTU Aqua and Institut for Ecoscience - Aarhus Universitet. Furthermore new sensors will be placed near other DUC fields.   The data collected will contribute to a study on the behavior of cod, other fish, and marine mammals like harbor porpoises around our platforms, providing insights into their role as feeding and spawning areas.   The findings will be shared on the new North Sea Environment Portal, which will be launched later this year. The portal will offer access to decades of data on environmental and biodiversity trends in the North Sea, aiding the creation of effective marine protection strategies. 🔹 Read more about the biodiversity study here: https://lnkd.in/dDt8iURU
