‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’
In a world filled with bloated franchise-driven I.P. — 3 hours for The Batman? C’mon now! — this “sequel” to 1974’s gonzo indie horror classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre gets it absolutely right. A light dusting of story (woke Zillenial wannabe cult leaders team up with a bank to gentrify a Red State ghost town), some memorably brutal kills, a few good callbacks, and you’re done, all in 82 minutes flat. Bravo!
