And just like that… Sex and the City is ruined.
Grab your cosmos and join comedian, actor, and lifelong New Yorker Sebastian Conelli as he breaks down all of the hilarious inaccuracies in the ground-breaking HBO series Sex and the City, now streaming on Max.
“I’m the guy you hate to watch TV shows and movies with,” says Conelli, who previously took a skewer to Friends, on the 20th anniversary of their series finale, and NYC-set rom-coms like When Harry Met Sally, in this new series from the New York Post.
This time around, Conelli sets his sights on Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte and Samantha, tearing apart everything from money to muggings, and of course, the flirty foursome’s wild sex-capades.
In the Season 3 premiere, they go out partying in the city’s forgotten borough. Conelli, a Staten Island native, is calling bulls—t. “No one has ever left Manhattan to go hook up with dudes in Staten Island!” he says, likely from personal experience.
As for the main characters’ super flexible daytime schedules? Fuggedaboutit.
“Here’s the thing about New York professionals. We grind. We do not have time at 2 p.m. in the middle of the day to get pedicures,” Conelli quips. “Miranda is a corporate lawyer! How does she have the hours to maintain friendships?”
