• Das Aussehen von Diskussionsseiten ändert sich für folgende Wikis: Aserbaidschanischsprachige Wikipedia, Bengalische Wikipedia, Deutschsprachige Wikipedia, Persische Wikipedia, Hebräische Wikipedia, Hindisprachige Wikipedia, Indonesische Wikipedia, Koreanischsprachige Wikipedia, Niederländischsprachige Wikipedia, Portugiesischsprachige Wikipedia, Rumänischsprachige Wikipedia, Thailändischsprachige Wikipedia, Türkischsprachige Wikipedia, Ukrainischsprachige Wikipedia, Vietnamesischsprachige Wikipedia. Diese Wikis haben an einem Test teilgenommen, bei dem 50 % der Benutzer ein Jahr lang das neue Design erhalten haben. Da dieser Test zu positiven Ergebnissen führte, wird das neue Design in diesen Wikis als Standard-Design eingeführt. Es ist möglich, in den Benutzereinstellungen diese Änderungen zu deaktivieren ("Diskussionsaktivität anzeigen"). Die Einführung wird in den kommenden Wochen in allen Wikis erfolgen. [1]
• Sieben neue Wikis wurden erstellt:

• You can now watch message groups/projects on Translatewiki.net. Initially, this feature will notify you of added or deleted messages in these groups. [9]
• Dark mode is now available on all wikis, on mobile web for logged-in users who opt into the advanced mode. This is the early release of the feature. Technical editors are invited to check for accessibility issues on wikis. See more detailed guidelines.

Probleme

• Kartographer maps can use an alternative visual style without labels, by using mapstyle="osm". This wasn't working in previews, creating the wrong impression that it wasn't supported. This has now been fixed. [10]

• Das Aussehen von Diskussionsseiten ändert sich für alle Wikis außer Commons, Wikidata und den meisten Wikipedias (ein paar Wikis haben diese Designänderung bereits erhalten). Du kannst dir auf Diff Details zu den Änderungen durchlesen. Es ist möglich, in den Benutzereinstellungen diese Änderungen zu deaktivieren ("Diskussionsaktivität anzeigen"). Die Einführung wird in den kommenden Wochen in den verbleibenden Wikis erfolgen. [13][14]
• Benutzeroberflächenadministratoren haben mit der Einführung von SiteAdminHelper mehr Kontrolle über das Aussehen von Artikelkomponenten in der mobilen Ansicht. Weitere Informationen dazu, wie Styles deaktiviert werden können, finden sich auf der Seite der Erweiterung. [15]
• Wikimedia Enterprise hat zur vorhandenen geparsten Infobox Artikeltextabschnitte im JSON-Format und ein kuratiertes Kurzbeschreibungsfeld hinzugefügt. Diese Erweiterung der API ist auch über Wikimedia Cloud Services verfügbar. [16]

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab dem 7. Mai verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 8. Mai. Auf allen Wikis ab dem 9. Mai (Kalender). [17][18]
• Auf der Seite Spezial:Logbuch hat die erste Ansicht die Bezeichnung "Alle öffentlichen Logbücher", jedoch wird nur ein Teil der Logbücher angezeigt. Die Bezeichnung wird nun "Zentrale öffentliche Logbücher" lauten. [19]

Zukünftige Änderungen

• Es wird ein neuer Dienst als Ersatz für die Erweiterung:Graph entwickelt. Details finden sich in den letzten Neuigkeiten zu dieser Erweiterung.
• Ab dem 21. Mai werden die Englischsprachige Wikipedia und die Deutschsprachige Wikipedia die Möglichkeit erhalten, "Link hinzufügen" zu aktivieren. Dies ist Teil der progressiven Einführung des Werkzeugs für alle Wikipedias. Diese Communitys können die Funktion lokal aktivieren und konfigurieren. [20]

• Wikidata periodic table - Tool by User:Ricordisamoa, to browse all chemical elements available on Wikidata, with atomic number, chemical symbol, and localized label. It also includes two charts of the nuclides, with links to every isotope in Wikidata, colored by half-life or decay mode.

Other Noteworthy Stuff

• A new UI mode is available for the online validator for EntitySchemas. It represents validation reports as a table rather than a very long string, and replaces most links with hyperlinks with some of the text behind them; making them easier to read. Currently being tested at https://shex-validator.toolforge.org/packages/shex-webapp/doc/shex-simple-improved.html, we are looking for participants to evaluate this tool. Some experience with editing Wikidata is appreciated, but no experience working with Schemas is required. If you are interested, you can sign up here. We hope to begin interviews around May 13.
