Some big (breaking!) news from John Wall at Automotive Computing Conference (ACC) that BlackBerry QNX plans to open source its QNX software portfolio in the coming months. While this might be partially because John is sick of answering questions about open-source software for the past 10 years, this is a truly important moment for the automotive industry, in particular to ensure the continued resiliency of safety critical software in almost every car on the road today. Kudos to the BlackBerry team for making this leap and looking forward to hearing more about the support and licensing models in months to come!
