The year is 3400 b.c., the ancient Mesopotamians are gluing strips of wood at different angles to make plywood. Could this be the birth of composites? Our roots can be found in the fully automated production of high-performance components and cylindrical shapes made of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced composites). We used this knowledge to launch the first certified type IV tank with 700 bar and 350-liter H2 capacity. But what exactly are composites? "Our job is fantastic", according to our engineers, who are responsible for blasting and testing our high-pressure hydrogen tanks - all to ensure maximum safety. During the so-called burst test, the H2 tank is filled to its maximum pressure. Our type IV tank with 700 bar and a capacity of 350 liters can withstand minimum 2.25 times the operating pressure. This is one of the requirements for UNECE R134 certification. Our Carbon4Tank high-pressure hydrogen tank already passed these tests in 2023 and is therefore approved for road use.
