𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟯𝟱 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹🧱 On 8th and 9th November, Berlin will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. To mark this significant occasion, Germany’s capital is hosting a wide range of events and activities, welcoming hundreds of thousands of guests from around the world. Even before and after the official anniversary, a variety of programmes will pay tribute to these historic events. One of the highlights of this year's celebrations is a four-kilometre-long open-air presentation of 5,000 historical and newly designed posters on the theme of freedom. This exhibition, following the former inner-city wall route between Invalidenstraße and Axel-Springer-Straße, will be on display on 8th and 9th November. Another focal point of the festivities is the Festival of Freedom along this route. On 9th November, from 8 to 9 pm, the entire area will transform into a large stage where up to 1,000 volunteers – both Berliners and guests – will perform songs about freedom. Everyone is invited to join in and sing along. In line with the celebrations, the #FallingWallsScienceSummit – hosted by the Falling Walls Foundation for Breakthrough Thinking as part of Berlin Science Week – will take place. This premier forum for global scientific leaders, focused on breakthrough discoveries, is held annually from 7th to 9th November on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This year, in 2024, it coincides with the 35th anniversary of this historic moment.
