#Globalization is evolving, not declining. 🌍   Driven by geopolitical tensions, techno-nationalism, and environmental concerns, global value chains are undergoing significant transformation.   Advanced economies are at the forefront of this shift, implementing industrial policies as China and other emerging markets challenge their long-held economic and technological dominance. This leads to a significant redistribution of production capacities: from 2016 to 2023, the global value of greenfield investments surged by 69%, while cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) fell by 57%.   The recalibration of global trade is particularly evident in sectors like electronics and machinery, especially in the dynamics between China, the US, and “friendshoring” nations such as Vietnam and Mexico. As the US seeks greater independence from China, its trade deficit is increasingly shifting towards these countries.   The rise of more complex and regionally diverse global value chains requires businesses to adapt their strategies and operations.
