HackSummit: the ONLY climate conference in the world that could get me to fly across the world at 3 months post-birth while still nursing- #PumpQueen!
Pumping 6-8x a day was hard, painful and I will write more about this in a separate post but if any event was worth it, it's THIS one.
As they did last year, Emilie, Fascal, Laura, Arman, Camille and Coline TOTALLY OUTDID THEMSELVES!
There IS no better food and climate event in my mind. I wrote all about it when I went last year and my article could be copied and pasted. It's the most generous, well-curated, well-organized, joyful, interesting event around!
I don't know how they do it, but EVERYONE who attends is just so great! Not just brilliant but kind and thoughtful. Maybe it's because the Hack team themselves are all so kind and thoughtful. PSA for event organizers: kind people create the best events.
My highlights this year:
🤗 Getting to see, hug and hang with some of my absolute favorite humans in the world Emilie Michal Nicola Robert!
🥰 Reconnecting with some of my favorite friends Daniel Ryan Jonathan🍄Daniel Yonatan Christian Dr. Elif + more in comments
💚 FINALLY meeting people I have admired and talked to for ages in person Marlana Adrian Erik Matthew Paul Matt and leaving with so many new friends Jan Tal Abby and so many more!
🎯 Putting APAC and Rice Decarbonization on the global climate tech map: Steve Vassily Erika David Jonathan Bharath Ann XiuLing - incredible lineup on both panels! So proud!
🤤 Tasting outstanding #futurefoods from PROJECT EADEN (omg the cooked #plantbased ham! omg omg omg!), Minus Compound Coffee (incredible bean-free coffee latte), Redefine Meat (loved the PB lamb skewers), Planted (their new steak is legit delicious), WNWN cacao free choccie (new salted milk bar is hella good), Better Nature (great tempeh!), Bettafish (perfect tuna sandwiches) + more from TiNDLE, Kynda, Bosque Foods, Microterra, Zeastar, Northern Wonder, Enough...
👏🏽 HackSummit is the ONLY #climate event that gets F&B 100% right: no meat, no dairy, no seafood (no animal products of any kind), no plastic, no waste AND it's plentiful, delicious and nutritious (every lunch dish included a big/tasty salad/veg side). Being climate-aligned is a MINDSET and the team is all in, from the startup pitch trophy being made of recycled paper to the event partition made from reusable crate walls to absolutely NO SINGLE USE anything, it's really incredible. No other event comes close.
🙌🏽 The number of people from ALL over the world who took the time to find me and tell me how much they LOVED Green Queen's work and :
🤩that Future Food Weekly is their favorite newsletter in the space (go Nicola Spalding)
🤩that they never miss a podcast episode (go Steve Molino)
🤩that Anay Mridul asks the best questions bar non
🤩that Green Queen is the reason people got into foodtech as a career Valentina Suligoj 💚)
More to say but have exceeded my limit! So grateful to be part of this Hack family!
