Today, at the 17th Space Conference in Brussels, 19 satellite data companies have signed agreements to provide new or enhanced services to the Copernicus programme in their role as Copernicus Contributing Missions. This event celebrates a significant milestone in the evolution of the Copernicus Contribution Missions activity as part of the Copernicus programme and I am really proud of ESA’s role in implementing such activities. The CCM activity offers additional commercial EO data with augmented capabilities in terms of revisit time and spatial resolution, and complementary solutions in terms of spectral resolution. 6️⃣European EO established data suppliers: Hisdesat Servicios Estratégicos , e-GEOS Airbus Defence and Space Germany, Airbus France, ICEYE and GEOSAT. These CCM contracts come with innovative features. They include a CCM data subscription scheme that is scalable for Copernicus’s needs. 9️⃣ European EO emerging data suppliers who will join the CSDE: Kuva Space , Aerospacelab , PROMÉTHÉE Earth Intelligence, OroraTech, constellr , SATLANTIS, EnduroSat, Absolut Sensing. The onboarding of these existing nine European scale ups into the CDSE is a further step for these companies in gaining momentum in the space sector and will amplify their visibility inside the Copernicus context. 4️⃣EO data suppliers offering non-European EO data: EUSI, GHGSAT, Planet, MDA Space. While the Copernicus programme relies on European commercial satellite data to complement Sentinel observations, there is also a valuable role for EO data companies that supply satellite data with satellites which are not European to satisfy the Copernicus data needs. ℹ️ https://lnkd.in/dq8SrCTi

When I was younger, I thought that getting the right answer is everything. Tests reinforce it—never be wrong, always be precise. We are to feature our partnership with Conservation International in supporting their wildfire mitigation for Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia! This vital lake in northwest Cambodia sustains 3 million people with food and water, making it the lifeblood of the region. But years of deforestation and wildfires have destabilized the environment, threatening its delicate balance. Since 2019, Conservation International has been working with local communities, equipping them with basic wildfire suppression tools. We have been supporting their mission since 2022. Wildfire Monitoring Might Be The Next Frontier For Rocket Lab Rocket Lab (NASDAQ: RKLB) has entered into a new deal with German satellite company OroraTech to launch their satellites into orbit. Orora Technologies has developed satellites that are capable of monitoring potential wildfire risks through thermal infrared cameras. Rocket Lab to launch OroraTech satellites

Hot on the heels of our FOREST-3 launch last week, we are so excited to announce the scheduled launch of our next eight satellites, OTC-P1, with our friends at Rocket Lab in late Q1. We pushed up the launch this year to support wildfire preparation and response for the upcoming 2025 summer fire season in the northern hemisphere. OTC-P1 is our first step in finally closing the afternoon gap, providing detections during the hottest and most dangerous part of the day for wildfires. Adding this extra observation during the day allows for unparalleled visibility of fire situations. By working with our friends at Spire for our platform integration, we are bringing this gap coverage to our customers as fast as possible. Early last week, OroraTech partnered with ICEYE, Open Cosmos, and the Hellenic Space Center to co-host the Industry Days for the Hellenic Space Ecosystem in Athens. Supported by the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance and the European Space Agency - ESA, the event gathered key players in Greece’s growing space industry to explore new opportunities for collaboration and innovation. During the two-day program, we shared updates on the Greek National SmallSat Program and highlighted OroraTech’s ongoing contributions to this exciting initiative. With matchmaking sessions and presentations from leading organizations, the event provided a dynamic platform to exchange expertise and strengthen partnerships across every company involved in this great project. Our mission to help detect and control wildfires across Greece is on track as we expand our footprint and continue developing the Greek national wildfire system!
