💡 In the spotlight: The existing workforce’s skills are not sufficient to meet the demands of the future workplace! 📡 Meaning that in today’s workplaces, #information is a key #competitive advantage. Employees who can find, evaluate, and use information effectively have become invaluable assets to organisations. As #technology becomes more user-friendly, it's crucial that workers can not only access but also apply information in their roles. However, some, especially older generations, still resist adopting new tech. The rapid #digitalization of the global economy, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, is reshaping the world of work. By 2021, 63% of the global population were active internet users, and by 2022, internet traffic exceeded all traffic prior to 2016. Developed economies, in particular, are embracing a #data-driven digital shift. Digitalization is transforming labor markets, creating new job types and altering employment relationships, while governments worldwide, including in Malaysia, Nigeria, and China, are adopting national digital strategies. With decision-making and problem-solving in constant demand, the need for a #highly skilled, #adaptable workforce is more critical than ever. 🔎 Want to test your digital skills? We've all been there—interviewing can feel uncomfortable. But it's your true self and #authenticity that will truly make you stand out! Be #genuine, not flawless—your #personality is an asset. Focus on being yourself, not perfect. If the job's right, you'll know, and if it’s not, you can feel good knowing you stayed true to yourself. Making a connection with your interviewer can greatly improve your chances of standing out. Here are some key tips to help you build rapport: 🔸 Research the Interviewer and the Company Before the interview, learn about the interviewer's role and background. Check their LinkedIn profile or any articles they may have written. This can give you talking points and help you understand their perspective. 🔸 Start with a Warm Greeting Begin with a smile, a firm handshake (if in-person), and a friendly yet professional tone. A positive first impression sets the stage for a good connection. 🔸 Find Common Ground If you discover you share something in common—whether it’s a professional interest, mutual connections, or even a hobby—subtly bring it up during the conversation. This humanizes the interaction and creates a bond. 🔸 Show Genuine Interest Actively listen to the interviewer and ask thoughtful questions. Demonstrate curiosity not only about the role but also about the company's values, culture, or the interviewer’s experience. People appreciate when others take a genuine interest in them. 🔸 Match Their Energy Observe the interviewer's communication style and adjust your own accordingly. If they are more formal, stay professional. If they’re more relaxed, feel free to be a bit more casual, while staying professional. 🔸 Share Personal Stories Without overdoing it, share personal anecdotes that highlight your strengths or skills. Storytelling makes you more relatable and memorable. 🔸 Use Body Language Make eye contact, nod to show understanding, and lean in slightly to convey engagement. Positive body language goes a long way in building rapport. 🔸 Be Confident but Humble Confidence is attractive in interviews, but being humble shows you’re open to learning and collaboration. Avoid coming across as arrogant. 🔸 Show Enthusiasm Express genuine excitement about the role and the company. Enthusiasm is contagious and can help create a positive vibe in the conversation. #togetherforsucces #zusammenhalt #officepeopleteam #authenticity #jobinterview

🍂 In September, schools across Europe kick off their new academic year, which means many parents face the challenge of balancing work with the important milestone of their child's first day at school. How do companies support employees during this special time? Do they offer flexibility, like an extra day or partial day off, to help parents be there for their kids? ➡ We want to hear your thoughts on this:

📬 Cover letters: In or Out? Cover letters can still be valuable, but their necessity often depends on the industry, company, and specific job application process. Here are some reasons why cover letters may still be relevant: 🔸 Personalization: A cover letter allows you to tailor your application, explain why you're a perfect fit for the role, and highlight specific skills or experiences that your resume might not fully convey. 🔸 Showcase Communication Skills: It offers a chance to demonstrate your writing and communication abilities, which can be important for many roles. 🔸 Stand Out: While some companies may skip cover letters, a well-crafted one can make you stand out in a competitive job market, showing extra effort and professionalism. 🔸 Cultural Fit: It gives you the opportunity to express your interest in the company's values and mission, helping employers see that you're aligned with their culture. ✅ That said, some industries or modern companies prioritize resumes and online applications, often skipping cover letters. If it's not required, you might still include one to increase your chances, but it depends on the context. #togetherforsucces #zusammenhalt #officepeopleteam

🇪🇺 Investing in Education = Highly Increased Chances to Land a Job 🔎 In 2023, 83.5% of recent EU graduates were employed, a notable increase from 82.4% in 2022. 📈 This positive trend reflects a decade-long rise in #employment rates for recent graduates, who are typically aged 20-34 and have completed their studies within the last 1 to 3 years. Back in 2013, only 74.3% of recent #graduates were employed, but the rate has steadily climbed since, despite a temporary dip in 2020 due to the pandemic, when it fell to 78.7%. 💡 In the #spotlight: Building on last week's discussion about handling unexpected/uncommon questions in a job #interview, which can indeed be challenging, we believe that with the #right approach, you can turn these moments into #opportunities to shine. Here’s how: 🔸 Stay Calm and Collected Unexpected questions are designed to test your composure. Take a deep breath before answering. A moment of pause shows that you’re thoughtful, not rattled. 🔸 Clarify If Needed If the question seems unclear or confusing, don’t hesitate to ask for clarification. This shows that you’re careful and want to give a well-considered response. 🔸 Think Out Loud If the question is complex or abstract, walk the interviewer through your thought process. This demonstrates your problem-solving skills and how you approach challenges. 🔸 Relate It to the Job Try to connect your answer back to the role or company. For instance, if asked, "Do you consider yourself lucky?" you could say something like, "I believe I create my own luck through preparation and hard work, which I think aligns with the proactive culture at your company." 🔸 Be Honest If you don’t know the answer, it’s okay to admit it. You can say something like, "That’s an interesting question. I haven’t encountered this before, but here’s how I would approach it..." This shows humility and a willingness to learn. 🔸 Show Adaptability Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in your answer is key. Employers want to see that you can handle the unexpected and thrive in changing environments. 🔸 Practice While you can’t anticipate every question, practicing your response to different types of unexpected questions can help you feel more confident during the interview. 👉 By using these strategies, you can turn #unexpected questions into an #opportunity to demonstrate your ability to stay calm, think critically, and adapt— qualities that are highly valued in any role. #unexpectedquestions #togetherforsucces #zusammenhalt #officepeopleteam #opportunity

💡 In the spotlight: Did you ever have to face #uncommon questions during an interview? Experts suggest that these unexpected questions—like 🔸 "Do you consider yourself lucky?" or 🔸 "Describe yourself in one word"—are designed to observe how candidates handle unfamiliar situations. It’s not just about the answer, they’re watching your overall reaction. Do you suddenly become more emotional? Can you maintain control under pressure? While the stress of an interview is already high, staying calm in the face of unexpected questions is crucial. These questions might seem odd, but they serve a purpose. With the pace of market and economic changes today, companies are looking for people who can adapt quickly. It’s not just about having the right skills; it’s about being able to #thrive in a fast-moving #environment. 🔛 So, what’s the most unusual question you’ve encountered in an interview? How did you handle it? #togetherforsucces #zusammenhalt #officepeople #thrive #jobinterview

🥁 Your #resume is your personal marketing tool, and making it stand out can open doors to your targeted job. Here's how to make sure your resume grabs attention (we merely have 5 seconds) and leaves a lasting impression. 🔸 Craft a Compelling Summary Start with a punchy summary that highlights your unique strengths, experiences, and what you bring to the table. Keep it concise and tailored to the job you're applying for. 🔸 Tailor Your Content #Customize your resume for each application. Highlight the skills and experiences that are most relevant to the job description. Use keywords from the job listing to pass through applicant tracking systems (ATS). 🔸 Showcase #Achievements, Not Just Duties Employers want to see results. Instead of just listing job duties, focus on your #achievements. Use metrics to quantify your success (e.g., "Increased sales by 30%," "Managed a team of 10," "Reduced costs by 15%"). 🔸 Use Action Verbs Start each bullet point with strong action verbs like "Led," "Developed," "Implemented," or "Enhanced." This makes your responsibilities and achievements sound more dynamic and impactful. 🔸 Keep It Clean and Professional A clean, professional layout with plenty of white space makes your resume easy to read. Use a simple, modern font and bullet points to organize information. Stick to one or two pages. 🔸 Highlight #Relevant Skills Include a skills section that lists both hard and soft skills relevant to the job. Make sure these are backed up by examples in your work experience. 🔸 Include #Keywords Use keywords from the job posting throughout your resume. This helps you get past ATS (applicant tracking system) filters and shows that you understand the job requirements. 🔸 Add a Touch of Personality While keeping it professional, don’t be afraid to let a bit of your personality shine through. Mentioning volunteer work, hobbies, or personal projects can make you more relatable and memorable. 🔸 Proofread, Proofread, Proofread! Typos and errors can land your resume in the rejection pile. Double-check your document for spelling and grammar mistakes, and consider having a friend or professional review it. 🔸 Use a Professional Format Consider using a resume template that is sleek and professional. Templates can help ensure your resume looks polished and is easy to navigate. There are so many tools out there which can really help you with this. P.S. Did you know there are specialized consultants who can help you write your CV? ;) #newjobopportunities #resumebuilding #tailoredcontent #makeitstandout #togetherforsucces #zusammenhalt #officepeopleteam
