- News Release - Nippon Express (Philippines)(hereinafter "NX Philippines"), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS,conducted a tree planting activity in Tanay City, Rizal Province on Saturday, August 3. NX Philippines conducted this tree-planting activity in the mountains of Tanay City's Santo Niño district in aid of a large-scale city-run mountain reforestation project to plant trees on 7.1 million hectares by 2028 pursuant to Presidential Executive Order No. 193 ("Expanding the Coverage of the National Greening Program”). Twenty-two employees from NX Philippines participated in the project, working with members of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) to plant 500 saplings of native Philippine tree species such as alibangbang, oak and fruit trees. The saplings planted are expected to contribute to local reforestation, biodiversity protection, and climate change mitigation. The NX Group will continue fulfilling its social development responsibilities by connecting people, companies, and communities, and by actively engaging in global environmental conservation activities to bring about sustainable societies. #NXGroup #Philippines #treeplantingactivity

In this edition of "What We Do", we showcase the features and services of the new Palencia warehouse at our NX Spain! This new warehouse opened in Palencia, #Spain, in January of this year. The facility has a state-of-the-art automated warehousing system designed to improve operational efficiency and productivity. Some of its features include over 15,000 small-storage bins, a fleet of autonomous robots, and more than 300 meters of conveyors. All these features play a part in the facility's automated #warehousing, shipping, and picking operations. The Palencia warehouse plays two roles. First, it serves as a hub in Southern Europe for a global #automotive parts company. Secondly, the warehouse is a hub for the NX Group in Europe, facilitating distribution between Spain and the rest of #Europe and overseas. Warehouse manager Mario Tijero Vallejo speaks proudly of the facility: "We are confident that the new warehouse will enhance the presence of our automotive and contract logistics businesses, in turn enhancing our corporate value, and will become a benchmark in the NX Group’s sustainable growth.logistics, and helps our customers achieve their CO2 emission metrics."

- News Release - Nippon Express (Korea) ( hereafter "NX Korea"), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, offered a presentation at the 20th Korea-Hokuriku (Japan) Economic Exchange Conference held in Gangneung, Korea, on August 26. The Korea-Hokuriku (Japan) Economic Exchange Conference is one of the leading regional economic exchange events between Korea and Japan. Hosted by Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, part of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, this 20th conference, the first in six years, was held on the theme of “promoting Korea-Japan interregional exchange”. The conference was attended by over 130 participants from both countries, including Japanese representatives from the Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, the three prefectures of the Hokuriku region, relevant economic organizations, and private companies, as well as Korean representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, four local governments, the Japan-Korea Economic Association, business groups, companies, universities, and research institutions. During the logistics section, President Akiyama gave a presentation on “Logistics Cooperation between the Three Hokuriku Prefectures and Korea” that attracted much attention from the visitors. He specifically introduced a scheme being pursued by NX Korea that leverages the hub functions of the Port of Busan to address various issues facing the logistics industry, including Japan's “2024 problem”, and discussed using the Port of Busan as one option for the three major Hokuriku ports and other regional ports in Japan in readying themselves for future changes in supply chains. Electric trucks have joined the fleet at Nippon Express USA! 🔋🚛 Since June of this year, Nippon Express USA has been gradually introducing its first-ever electric trucks into the fleet. These #trucks operate in the areas of San Antonio, Garner, Chicago, and Los Angeles. So far, their use is available for customers with CO2 reduction plans, as well as NX's internal fixed routes. For logistics providers in the US, integrating #ElectricVehicles can be difficult due to varying regulations between states, as well as complicated negotiations with relevant parties when it comes to installing recharging stations. However, now is the time for businesses in the US to integrate zero-emission vehicles. The United States government has set a goal of electric or other zero-emission vehicles constituting 50% of new vehicle sales by 2030. And for the State of California, in particular, there is a push to make all medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (including trucks and buses) zero-emission vehicles by 2045. Overcoming the challenges, Nippon Express USA recognized customers' needs for electric truck integration and pushed through to realize the transition. Through NX's #logistics services utilizing electric truck transportation, customers can reduce their Scope 3 CO2 emissions. Furthermore, NX's own Scope 1 & 2 CO2 emissions are cut. Nippon Express USA will introduce a total of 14 electric trucks by the end of this fiscal year.

- News Release - Nippon Express Engineering (Thailand)( hereinafter, “NX Engineering Thailand”), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, was selected as a "Workplace Accident Reduction Model Company" at an occupational safety and health event held in Thailand on Monday, August 26. This event was organized by the Workplace Accident Compensation Fund of the Thai Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office to promote occupational safety and health as well as work environment improvement efforts. The event featured a safety seminar and an award ceremony for workplace accident reduction model companies, and was attended by approximately 600 participants, including senior political and administrative officials from the Ministry of Labour, executives from the Social Security Office, other government officials, and representatives from various companies. Awardee companies were selected for meeting three criteria – zero occupational accidents between 2019 and 2023, strict compliance, and good relations between the company and its employees – and placed in one of three categories by size. NX Engineering Thailand was recognized as a workplace accident reduction model company in the category of small companies with fewer than 50 employees. The NX Group is working to enhance its corporate value and solve social issues to realize its long-term vision of becoming a "logistics company with a strong presence in the global market”.
