This packaging change embodies the phrase "reduce, reuse, and recycle." Rather than using air pillows or purchasing filler paper, our Jigani, India site shreds boxes from incoming shipments, reusing them as filler for boxes shipping off. This saves 14 tons of paper annually. Read about other projects to make our packaging greener here: http://ms.spr.ly/6044mPdz6

What if we could tell our bodies to fight off HIV, flu, or cancer? RNA therapeutics have the potential to do just that, but they are fragile and easily broken down in the body before reaching their destination. This is where lipid nanoparticles (LNP), the protective carriers for RNA come in. Scientists like Johanna Simon — along with her colleagues from our Early Formulation Screening Service Team — help clients identify and create customized LNP. By finding the right protective carrier to deliver RNA, their therapeutics are more likely to work. Learn how Johanna and her colleagues can support bringing ideas from discovery to an impactful product for patients here: http://ms.spr.ly/6041mMChH

We are thrilled to launch the FIRST single-use reactor specifically designed to manufacture antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The new Mobius ADC Reactor enables biopharmaceutical companies to produce their critical therapies faster and safer. ADCs are a groundbreaking technology that targets and selectively kills tumor cells while protecting healthy ones. This new reactor is tailored precisely to meet the unique requirements for ADC manufacturing. By embracing single-use technology, the new Mobius ADC Reactor can boost manufacturing efficiency by 70% compared to traditional methods. Some of the most important innovations are also the smallest. Meet the Mobius Breez Microbioreactor, one of the smallest automated perfusion microbioreactor ever created. This innovative microbioreactor helps our customers predict optimum cell culture processes before ramping up production at a larger scale. That helps our customers increase efficiency and reduce development timelines, meaning drugs can move through the development process faster and get to patients even more quickly. Our scientists and engineers tirelessly work to develop novel approaches to our customers' biggest challenges. Even when those challenges only require a “small” innovation, our Merck Life Science colleagues find new ways to create impactful solutions.

A researcher creates a new test for an old disease. Read her story: http://ms.spr.ly/6041mDT5X Testing for Hansen’s disease—formerly known as Leprosy—used to be confined to specialized clinics. It was difficult to get tested, diagnosed, and treated, especially in remote areas, where hotspots tend to occur. Motivated by the experience of someone close to her, one researcher set out to create a more accessible testing option.

Big news! We're the FIRST in the industry to receive EXCiPACT cGMP certification for cell culture manufacturing. This certification highlights our commitment to the safety, quality, and efficacy of cell culture media used in drug components. Cell culture media is an essential raw material used in life-saving therapies and processes as varied as gene therapy, vaccine, and monoclonal antibody manufacturing. Because of its central role in biomanufacturing, a consistent supply of high-quality media is required to deliver the necessary concentration and protein quality for therapeutics. There is nothing more wonderful than seeing curiosity sparked in future scientists' eyes, especially when they are your children! We hosted a Curiosity Labs science class at our Tokyo M Lab Collaboration Center, inviting more than 30 of our employees’ children for a day of fun hands-on science. Students learned about the importance of clean water while creating water filters with common materials and also learned the importance of filtration in the drug production using real devices from the lab. We can't wait to see what these future scientists discover. Thanks to our great employee volunteers for sharing their love for science! #SPARKCuriosity
