Here’s a quick summary of the key takeaways from Frank Spennemann, our Head of Charging Solutions Energy, who participated in the icnc 2024 panel discussion on #SmartEnergy together with Juergen Stein from EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG and Merlin Lauenburg from Tibber. 🔋 Smart Home Energy Ecosystem: Integrating smart systems in home energy management can help reducing energy costs in the future and support the energy transition. 🚗 EVs as Flexible Energy Consumers: EVs' large batteries and usage profiles offer great flexibility for bidirectional charging and discharging. In a smart energy system, EVs will charge during low energy prices and high renewable generation, and discharge when prices are high and renewable generation is low. 🔗 Interoperability & Standards: For a seamless smart energy system, interoperability between energy assets is crucial. An ISO standard for interoperability between chargers and EVs is currently being implemented by manufacturers. 📜 Regulatory Framework: Creating a regulatory framework that supports bidirectional charging is essential. This includes addressing grid codes, fees, and taxation to pave the way for mass adoption. Additionally smart meter rollout in Germany has to be accelerated.    What do you think? Fresh Friday Figures! 📅 We've just released our financial figures for the second quarter of 2024. The portfolio of Mercedes-Benz Mobility shows an increasing share of xEV vehicles (battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) in the second quarter of 2024. As a result, more than every second electric vehicle is now leased or financed by Mercedes-Benz Mobility.
