A vessel was stranded due to engine issues (not a MAN engine of course!), and after many unsuccessful attempts to get assistance from the original manufacturer, they turned to MAN PrimeServ Brazil for help. We assured them we’d step in—no matter what. But even without service engineers available and during the weekend? Definitely! replied Julio. With his extensive experience with the OEM of the engine in trouble, he traveled on-board the next day to provide the necessary service. In less than 24 hours, the vessel was back in operation. An amazing total of 65 MAN teams gathered in Fælledparken, Copenhagen, on Friday evening to partake in the annual #DHLStafetten relay race! Some of us ran the 5k trail, some walked, but everyone sure ended up having a great time. Our teams definitely stood out among the crowd of participants, sporting our eye-catching, ocean blue jerseys. 🌊🛳 They not only carried them across the finish line in a display of teamwork, but also all the way to the well-earned refreshments awaiting them there! Adding a MBT team to the 5km walking route and the 5&10km running trails, the company run in Frederikshavn stood out as well, where the physical exertions were later balanced out with a barbecue. ☀ 🚀Exciting progress in solar energy research! The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and MAN Energy Solutions have achieved a significant milestone with the solar tubular receiver for molten salt at the Multifocus Tower in Jülich. For the first time, a salt temperature exceeding 600°C has been reached, surpassing the current industry standard of 565°C. This breakthrough not only enhances the efficiency of solar thermal power plants but also opens new possibilities for cost reduction in the sector. The ongoing tests at the Jülich facility validate the technology under realistic conditions, laying the groundwork for its commercial application. By increasing the operating temperature of the salt circuit, steam can be heated to higher levels, improving the efficiency of power generation.
