Ready for the Reverse Bleed System (RBS) Installation on the CFM LEAP-1A! We are currently performing the very first RBS retrofit on a CFM LEAP-1A engine for our trusted customer from Faroe: Atlantic Airways! For over ten years, we have enjoyed a strong partnership, and our team is currently outfitting their first LEAP-1A engine with the new RBS modification during a scheduled Quick-Turn in our Hamburg shop. This advanced system, introduced by CFM International (CFM) earlier this year, marks a great step forward in engine performance. It significantly reduces the risk of Fuel Nozzle Coking - resulting in fewer fuel nozzle replacements, lower maintenance efforts, and increased operational time for our customers. By implementing this technology on their LEAP-1A engine, we help our customers lower maintenance costs while boosting fleet efficiency and reliability. We have already completed more than 60 CFM LEAP-1A and -1B events including the worldwide first PRSV of a LEAP-1A engine. As the world’s first independent MRO provider to sign a CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) for both LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, we deliver comprehensive in-shop and on-wing solutions. More RBS installations are already planned for the upcoming year. #LufthansaTechnik #MROexperts #CFMLEAP #keepyouflying

"In Search of Good Design" – The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious design competitions, celebrating excellence in design and business. Last week, the official award ceremony took place in Singapore, where we were honored with two awards: Our VIP design concept, CelestialSTAR for the BBJ 777-9, received recognition in the Product Design category. CelestialSTAR is a luxury VIP and government cabin concept for the BBJ 777-9, emphasizing versatility and multifunctionality. It combines cutting-edge features with maximized space and comfort, while beautifully blending traditional elements of Middle Eastern cultural heritage with a modern twist. Meet our Aircraft Interior Architect, Tim Callies, and discover what inspires him and his colleagues in their innovative work. This BBJ 777-9 cabin design was the first of its kind to be developed using actual data from the aircraft, provided by Boeing. This ensures the feasibility of the design, as the dimensions and space shown are 100% accurate. If you would like to discuss our latest interior design concepts with us, the National Business Aviation Association Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) next week in Las Vegas will be the perfect spot. Our second Red Dot Award was for the Omni-Fi sound experience, recognized in the “Best of the Best: Design Concept” category. #LufthansaTechnik #NBAA2024 #RedDotDesignAward #keepyouflying

We continue to strengthen our long-term partnership with Philippine Airlines: The Philippines’ flag carrier and Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen Co., Ltd. signed an Airframe Related Components services contract for Airbus A321ceo nacelles. The agreement includes maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) as well as spare unit support for the V2500 engine’s inlet cowling. This new collaboration between Lufthansa Technik’s subsidiary in China and the Manila-based airline is scheduled to begin servicing by the end of this year. Philippine Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have been collaborating in various MRO areas for over two decades. Earlier this year, the airline chose to renew its partnership with us in Engine Maintenance Services. This renewal complements the existing agreements for Total Component Support (TCS) for PAL’s Boeing 777 fleet, along with Base Maintenance Services provided by Lufthansa Technik Philippines. Additionally, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen, specializing in advanced repairs of composite and bonded materials used in aircraft structures, and Philippine Airlines are already collaborating on component repairs. “We are delighted to announce our new collaboration with Lufthansa Technik on Airframe Related Components. This partnership will not only benefit Philippine Airlines by ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet, but also strengthens the relationship between the two companies,” said Alvin Kendrich O. Limqueco, Philippine Airlines’ Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer. Jens Michel, LL.M. (VUW), our Vice President Sales North East Asia at Lufthansa Technik, stated: “Thanks to Philippine Airlines for continuing to entrust us with your business. We are always committed to providing outstanding services and excited to further strengthen our successful partnership with Philippine Airlines through this collaboration.” #LufthansaTechnik #MROexperts #keepyouflying

First eTLB customer in #APAC 👏: VietJet Air introduces AVIATAR’s electronic Technical Logbook (eTLB) into its technical operations for its growing fleet of Airbus A320/A321 and A330 aircraft. The operator has obtained the CAAV (Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam) approval for the use of the eTLB. VietJetAir is the first airline in the APAC region introducing the eTLB. The rollout has been satisfactory, with the airline benefitting from AVIATAR’s digital solution for its cockpit and maintenance crews allowing a reduction in manual efforts through a seamless and intuitive interface. Mr Le Anh Huy, Head of MOC at VietJet Air, said: “With the implementation of AVIATAR's Technical Logbook, we are replacing the manual and paper-based process of capturing technical issues in-flight and on the ground. Based on the close cooperation with the AVIATAR team, we are convinced that the solution will not only improve communication between our crews and Tech Ops but also increase our overall maintenance efficiency.” Frank Martens, our Senior Director Sales and Customer Development of Digital Fleet Services: “I would like to thank VietJet Air for their great trust in our services and look forward to continuing our trustful cooperation.” #AVIATAR's electronic Technical Logbook offers pre-filled text blocks and automated input masks that capture technical issues of the aircraft during flight and on ground. It therefore replaces time-consuming manual entries into paper books and improves data quality as well as transparency. #keepyouflying #LufthansaTechnik #digitalMRO #avMRO

BizJet International, our subsidiary and engine maintenance service provider in the U.S., has officially rebranded as Lufthansa Technik Engine Services. This aligns the Tulsa-based company with the global Lufthansa Technik brand, reflecting its strengthened presence in the Americas and its growing role in the global aviation services network. 💪🌎 Founded in 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, BizJet quickly became a trusted name in corporate aviation. After joining Lufthansa Technik in 2000, the company expanded into a global service network. Key milestones include a 2004 facility upgrade to support Rolls-Royce Tay engines, and joining Lufthansa Technik’s Mobile Engine Services network in 2016 to offer maintenance for commercial engines like the V2500 and CFM56. With advanced test cells and skilled personnel, BizJet is now a key player in both corporate and commercial engine services. On 1 October 2024, Michael Scheferhoff took over as President and CEO, succeeding Thomas Illner. He brings deep expertise and a clear vision for growth: “With over 650 full engine overhauls and more than 600 Mobile Engine Services events, we’ve accomplished much, but there’s still more to come. Leveraging the strength of the Lufthansa Technik brand will help us strengthen our presence and solidify our ambitions in both the corporate and commercial engine services markets. Expanding our market share in the Americas also means growing the Tulsa facility, which is now the second-largest repair station in Lufthansa Technik’s global Mobile Engine Services network.” Don’t miss him and our colleagues at the NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas from 22-24 October, where we’ll showcase our complete range of corporate jet services. #keepyouflying #NBAA2024

SHARK-tastic news: Lufthansa Technik equips LATAM’s 777 aircraft with AeroSHARK! ✈️🌍 LATAM Airlines is the first airline in the Americas and the third globally to adopt our innovative AeroSHARK film on Boeing 777 aircraft, aiming to reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 6,000 metric tons annually. In December 2023, LATAM retrofitted its first Boeing 777-300ER with AeroSHARK, a bionic film that mimics sharkskin and reduces fuel consumption by about 1%. Now LATAM plans to equip four more aircraft with the technology, developed in partnership with BASF Coatings. Sebastian Acuto, Director of Fleet and Projects at LATAM Airlines Group, said: “Our fleet modernization strategy is a cornerstone of our commitment to sustainability and our vision of achieving net zero by 2050. We remain focused on innovation and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, ensuring our fleet evolves in line with our environmental goals.” Robin Johansson, our Senior Director Sales Latin America and Caribbean, added:  “LATAM’s decision confirms once again: AeroSHARK works. This further encourages us to use our engineering skills and innovative strength to contribute to aviation with lower CO₂ emissions.” One step closer to our goal of supporting airlines around the world to operate more efficiently and achieve their sustainability objectives! We look forward to collaborating with more airlines in the future. 🦈 #LufthansaTechnik #LATAMAirlines #AeroSHARK #Sustainability #MakeChangeFly

TUI Airline now also opted for the Technical Logbook of AVIATAR for its entire fleet of around 130 airplanes: Our co-developing customer already uses many AVIATAR solutions to manage their fleet. The electronic Technical Logbook (eTLB) now replaces the paper-based process of capturing technical issues on ground and in the air. Offering prefilled text blocks and automated input masks, it makes time-consuming manual entries redundant and thus improves data quality as well as transparency. TUI Airline is a strong partner of our Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem, which aims at driving digitalization, innovation, optimization and sustainability of Tech Ops processes for airlines around the world. TUI also uses other solutions like AMOS and flydocs, all part of the Ecosystem, to optimize their Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) Organization. Combining software for Condition Monitoring, Data Analytics, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Records, Asset Solutions, Maintenance & Engineering is the strength of the Ecosystem. The Technical Logbook will allow the TUI Airline now to use the new seamless digital pilot-to-maintenance collaboration with interfaces to all three partners in the Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem. “The efficient teamwork with AVIATAR and the Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem is key in our team’s mission to deliver tailored, reliable, high quality and cost-effective services for TUI Airline. Delivering a high fleet reliability and availability as well as paperless maintenance operations is our objective while ensuring safety and compliance at the same time,” said Niklas Kropp, Head of Business Development & Fleet Performance, TUI Airline. Frank Martens, our Head of Sales & Key Account Digital Fleet Services added: "We look forward to co-creation in our Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem as well as a very lean, agile and effective project set-up for the onboarding of the eTLB.” #digitalization #keepyouflying #LufthansaTechnik
