Lilium Chairman und ex-Airbus CEO Tom Enders ergänzt: "Airbus - die Nummer 1 der Luftfahrt - würde es heute nicht geben, wenn frühere Bundesregierungen sich nicht mit Mut und Entschlossenheit gegen die Skeptiker und Ideologen gerade auch in den eigenen Reihen durchgesetzt hätten. In Berlin gibt es zum Thema „KfW-Darlehen für Lilium“ einige Missverständnisse. Ich möchte deshalb klarstellen: 1. Es geht um den Einstieg in die elektrische Luftfahrt als Beitrag zur Dekarbonisierung, nicht um Lufttaxis. Batterie-elektrisches Fliegen wird für 80% aller heute stattfindenden Flüge verfügbar sein, nur für die Langstrecke wird man an e-Fuels nicht vorbeikommen. Batterien sind dreimal effizienter als Wasserstoff und bereits heute verfügbar. 2. Lilium soll ein festverzinsliches Darlehen in Höhe von €100 Mio. als Signal an unsere Investoren erhalten, dass Deutschland den Einstieg in die elektrische Luftfahrt unterstützt. Es geht nicht darum, ein krisengeschütteltes Unternehmen mit Zuschüssen zu retten. Das Darlehen ist voll rückzahlbar, die Konditionen sind für die KfW, und damit für Deutschland, sehr vorteilhaft. 3. Unsere privaten Investoren - meist aus USA und China - haben Lilium bereits mit $1,5 Mrd. finanziert. Sie wollen gerne weiter investieren. Aber sie wollen auch ein Signal, dass es kein Nachteil ist, in ein deutsches Unternehmen zu investieren. Es hat auf der Welt noch nie ein erfolgreiches Flugzeugprogramm gegeben, das nicht staatlich unterstützt wurde. Die Anfangsinvestitionen sind einfach zu hoch, um rein privatwirtschaftlich gestemmt zu werden. Siehe Airbus: Heute ein wichtiger Arbeitgeber und Steuerzahler.  4. Unsere Investoren haben einige Alternativen. Die USA, China, Großbritannien und Frankreich haben Liliums Wettbewerber längst signifikant gefördert und fördern weiter. Wenn die Förderlage in Deutschland zu stark davon abweicht, ist Deutschland als Investitionsstandort nicht wettbewerbsfähig. Allein der Wettbewerber Joby wird bislang mit mehr als $600 Mio. von den USA unterstützt.  5.  Lilium hat heute bereits über 1.100 Beschäftigte und ca. 2.000 Arbeitsplätze bei Zulieferern. Allein Lilium zahlt in Deutschland pro Jahr €50 Mio. an Steuern und Sozialabgaben. Eine Garantieerklärung des Bundes in Höhe von €50 Mio. ist deshalb ein sehr moderates Investment. Bayern hat seine Garantieerklärung für den KfW-Kredit in gleicher Höhe bereits abgegeben. 6. Der Lilium-Jet ist das Flugzeugprogramm mit den höchsten Bestellzahlen bereits vor dem Erstflug in der Geschichte der Luftfahrt. Mehr als 100 Festbestellungen und über 600 Vorbestellungen sind Weltrekord. Der Lilium-Jet ist mit Abstand das effizienteste, leistungsfähigste und sicherste elektrische Flugzeug. 7. Wollen wir jetzt auch noch die Elektrifizierung der Luftfahrt ins Ausland abwandern lassen, wenn die weltweit beste Technologie dafür von deutschen Ingenieuren entwickelt wurde? Sollte hier nicht einmal Pragmatismus über Ideologie gewinnen? Will Deutschland zukünftig elektrische Flugzeuge in den USA und China kaufen, so wie damals Passagierflugzeuge (Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed), weil wir keine eigene Industrie hatten?

🎊⚡We have completed the first systems power-on #milestone on our first Lilium #Jet, MSN 1, which will be used to confirm safety for the first piloted flight, planned for early 2025.
