Developed over the last 5 years by Intrapore and research partners, Fluorolock® is designed to provide an effective and durable method for sustained PFAS adsorption and immobilization within the unsaturated soil zone - right below PFAS hot spots, yet still above the groundwater level. Fluorolock® is a clay-mineral/carbon-based, microscale adsorber specifically engineered to ensure containment of PFAS, preventing them from leaching into groundwater. 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛 – 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐤𝐭 Um unsere bewährte Intraplex®-Spezialaktivkohle zur in situ PFAS-Immobilisierung weiterzuentwickeln, haben wir uns mit den Forschungspartner Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) und Bergische Universität Wuppertal zusammengetan. Es geht in Aquacarb ab nun darum, die Intraplex®-Adsorptionszonen so zu regenerieren, dass im Prinzip unbegrenzte Lebensdauern erreicht werden können. Über Laborversuche, Mesokosmen-Experimente und einen Pilotversuch wollen wir die Regeneration so entwickeln und unter Feldbedingungen testen, dass wir danach in die Anwendung gehen können. Wir freuen uns auf drei spannende Jahre mit dem Projektträger Jülich (PtJ) und unseren Projektpartnern!
