🌍 Why Internationalisation is Essential for Deep Tech Startups For deep tech startups, internationalisation isn’t just a growth opportunity—it’s a strategic imperative. These companies operate at the cutting edge of science and technology, tackling global challenges in areas like climate change, advanced manufacturing, health, aerospace and AI. To maximize their impact and scale effectively, going beyond domestic markets is critical. Here’s why: 🔬 Access to Larger Markets: Deep tech innovations often require significant R&D investment and have long development cycles. Expanding globally allows startups to reach larger customer bases and increase revenue streams to sustain their development. 🌎 Tackling Global Challenges Requires Global Solutions: Issues like sustainability, energy transition, and advanced materials innovation know no borders. Deep tech startups need international collaborations to co-develop and deploy solutions on a meaningful scale. 🤝 Partnerships for Scale: Many deep tech startups rely on strategic partnerships with corporates, governments, and research institutions. These connections often exist in ecosystems outside their home countries. Expanding internationally unlocks opportunities for cross-border collaborations and access to valuable resources. 💶 Attracting Capital: Deep tech ventures typically require more patient capital than traditional startups. Internationalisation opens doors to diverse funding sources, including venture capital, corporate venture capital, and government grants. 📡 Access to Talent and Expertise: Deep tech thrives on innovation, and tapping into global talent pools and expertise accelerates progress. Diverse teams often produce better solutions to complex problems. To deep tech founders: think beyond borders, build networks in new markets, and explore collaborative ecosystems. The challenges you’re solving are global—your solutions should be too. To that end, we have collected some great opportunities for you in the next few weeks: 🇪🇺 EIC Industrial Technologies Portfolio Day: Online - Monday, 18 November 2024 – 9h30 to 17h30 CET The day will be dedicated to exploring collaborative, innovation and trends in Industry with practical workshops addressing key industry challenges.
