Before the opening ceremony of our Gigahub in Hamburg, some of our colleagues had the opportunity to sit down with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and ask all their questions. In a private setting, the Chancellor took the time to address their ideas and questions. This unique moment gave our colleagues the opportunity to gain direct insights as well as get to know Chancellor Scholz on a more personal level The meeting also highlighted the value of open conversations in today's fast-paced world. Opportunities like this don't come along very often and we are honoured that our colleagues were able to have such a meaningful discussion. A day that symbolizes the power of coming together, overcoming division, and building a future as one nation. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 marked not only the end of an era, but the beginning of a united journey toward a shared vision. This day is a reminder not only of our historic milestone, but also of the strong ties that have grown between East and West Germany since then. Reunification has enabled us to work together across borders, especially in the energy sector. As we work towards a successful energy transition, a common spirit of unity is more important than ever. The challenges of climate change require us to work together as one Germany, breaking down any remaining barriers. Whether it is wind, solar, or hydro – our diverse energy sources force us to unleash the power of unity. Each region brings its own strength to the table. With wind energy accounting for 28%, solar energy 14% and hydropower 8% of the renewable energy mix in 2023, cooperation between all parts of Germany was crucial. Together, we generated more than 513 billion kilowatt hours of renewable energy – about 50% of our total energy supply. Only by working together we can come together again to lead Germany in the energy transition. This is a crucial step towards a sustainable future powered by green hydrogen. We celebrated this key moment  with over 350 guests, including high-ranking  representatives from politics and business –  all united by a shared vision for the hydrogen economy. A highlight of the day was the ceremonial opening of the Gigahub, symbolizing our collective commitment to advancing green hydrogen initiatives. This moment not only marked the beginning of an exciting journey, but also emphasized the collaborative spirit needed to meet the challenges ahead. 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹-𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽: "𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 - 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸" Just an hour ago, we had the pleasure of hosting an engaging panel discussion at the Gigahub, where top-class experts gathered to explore the future of green hydrogen and the critical steps needed to overcome existing challenges: - Michael Kellner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economic and Climate Protection - Till Mansmann, Commissioner for Green Hydrogen at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research - Dr. Oliver Weinmann, President of the German Hydrogen Association (DWV) e.V. - Heiner Gärtner, Founder and CTO of GP Joule GmbH - Jürgen Klöpffer, CFO of MAN Energy Solutions The 45-minute in-depth analysis of the challenges of ramping up the hydrogen economy was moderated by Quest One COO Michael Meister. In the end, the panelists agreed on the importance of endurance: The transition to a successful hydrogen economy is a marathon, not a sprint. Collaboration among stakeholders is key to unlocking potentials for investments, streamlining regulatory processes as well as improving the development of the hydrogen infrastructure. Our CEO, @Robin von Plettenberg, gave an inspiring speech at one of the world's most advanced R&D and production centers for stack manufacturing. Our Gigahub is a testament for our commitment towards a future powered by green hydrogen.   Robin also officially revealed our new name: Quest One. This name reflects our mission on three levels: 1)   Our commitment to addressing the climate crisis - the greatest challenge of our generation. 2)   Tackling this challenge with hydrogen, the first element in the periodic table, where 'one' also symbolizes hydrogen 3)   Our company ambition to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by 1% by 2050.
