H2Global’s donors conference brought together some of the most influential companies and brightest minds in the clean hydrogen space. The event featured insightful sessions and discussions on the current state of the hydrogen sector, H2Global’s impact, and upcoming auctions. Key takeaways from the latest research presented was that a targeted approach yields better results for achieving specific, concrete outcomes, compared to a broad, scattergun strategy. Dutch and German government representatives shared key elements of their national hydrogen strategies and explained how  H2Global plays a critical part in achieving their goals. Company supporters and guests including Fertiglobe emphasized the ongoing challenges in securing large-scale off-take agreements pointing to the H2Global auction results as a welcome and positive step forward. Discussions on stage and in the hallways underscored among others regulatory challenges affecting projects in the clean hydrogen space. Representatives from Austria, Canada and India (re)iterated their governments’ political will to establish a clean hydrogen economy and the importance of supporting front runners/pilot projects. Ivana Jemelkova, CEO of the Hydrogen Council emphasized the importance of patience and persistence in building a new energy sector and highlighted the crucial role that innovative instruments like H2Global play in advancing the clean hydrogen economy. Special thanks to our Chair Dr. Axel Wietfeld and Deputy Chair Angela Titzrath for their leadership and guidance. With 155 people attending, H2Global continues to grow from strength to strength. 🌍 Strengthening Transatlantic Energy Ties: Canada Commits CAD 300 Million to H2Global Auction 🇨🇦🇩🇪 Canada has pledged up to CAD 300 million (approx. EUR 200 million) to support clean hydrogen trade with Germany through the H2Global auction mechanism. This is a key milestone in the Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance, aimed at decarbonizing industries across Europe. 🇮🇳 H2Global in India: Pioneering Green Hydrogen Markets 🇮🇳   Last week, Dr. Susana Moreira, Executive Director of the H2Global Foundation and HINT.CO GmbH CEO Timo Bollerhey visited India at the invitation of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).    Indian green hydrogen leaders and the H2Global leadership team discussed how India can leverage the H2Global mechanism to achieve its ambitious green hydrogen goals.   Susana and Timo shared valuable insights from the pilot auction that resulted in the first major shipment of green ammonia to Europe starting in 2027.    The Hon Shri Prahlad Joshi, Minister of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), expressed keen interest in learning from H2Global Foundation’s engagement with multiple governments, bringing importers and exporters together, including Germany, Canada, Netherlands, and Japan, as India explores its own import and export strategies for green fuels.   India's green hydrogen ambitions are globally significant, especially as the nation faces the early impacts of climate change.    State governments such as Maharashtra and Gujarat, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited, and hydrogen trade associations are all playing crucial roles in supporting India’s decarbonization efforts.   A special thanks to Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO) for coordinating and supporting the delegation, and to H2Global’s Indian donors, Larsen & Toubro and ReNew, for their invaluable support.

🖥 H2Global and Hintco launch beta websites 🖱 This month, H2Global and Hintco launched their new websites, providing stakeholders with a comprehensive, accessible, and dynamic digital experience of the H2Global mechanism and impact. The redesign process included extensive user research and feedback. A primary objective of the site was to explain the fiscal, technological and policy barriers facing the market ramp-up of low-emission fuels. The websites are also a major source of evidence and research on the state of play in nascent low-emission fuel markets. These new websites aim to showcase research and disseminate findings to wider stakeholders. The current beta websites will be upgraded with new features in the weeks and months ahead, including detailed breakdowns of upcoming auctions and the results from previous rounds.
