Flix receives the GOR Company Award 🎉   Every two years, the German Operations Research Society (#GOR) awards "companies that have made a special contribution to the use and dissemination of operations research in practice". We are excited to share this year, Flix has received this GOR Company Award ("Unternehmenspreis der GOR") during the annual conference.   Over the last couple of years, we have made great progress in making an impact with OR. Our colleagues in revenue management developed an automated revenue management system, combining machine learning and operations research. And in network planning, we have developed an OR-powered product to support our network planners in their daily work by automatically generating optimized bus and driver schedules. This award is a significant recognition of the effort of all teams and stakeholders involved in developing, spreading, and leveraging our OR-powered products 💚   Myriam Thömmes and I presented our learnings and experiences taking the conference attendees on a “A ride through Flix’ optimization universe” earlier today. In the presentation we explained: 💡 How we deal with real world complexity in OR algorithm development 🤝 Multi-disciplinary collaboration as a key ingredient to success 📊 How we deliver actual business value by continuously iteration on problem and solution space It was a great experience to hear people’s thoughts on our work, and we want to thank the OR community for the award and all the Flixies involved for the hard work that has gone into this over the last years. #flix #operationsresearch #or2024

We are expanding our network in India, as we launch a new hub in Bangalore.   👏Just 7 months into our Flix India journey, we are happy to announce that we are expanding to the country's south.   Since we launched around Delhi in February, we have learned so much and seen an incredible response from both partners and passengers.   Now we are expanding, adding a whole new network in the south.   Here are a few facts about the new expansion and our Indian network: 💡We are launching 6 new lines around Bangalore 📍The new network will cover 33 cities to begin with 🌍This takes the Indian network to a total of 101 cities and 215 stops nationwide   🤖India is the world's second-biggest bus market and we have now seen first-hand just how big it is.
