Meet Paul-Antoine, a Mechanical Engineer who gained international experience across Switzerland, Germany, Canada, and Japan. Originally from France, Paul-Antoine built a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne. During his Bachelor’s Degree, he completed a year-long exchange at the Technical University of Munich, where he joined TUfast e.V. Racing Team, and led the steering system design for an autonomous race car. He continued his studies at EPFL with a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, minoring in Innovation and Management, and took on a leadership role as Vice President and Head of Static Events for the EPFL Racing Team. Paul’s Master’s studies concluded with research at McGill University in Canada, where he developed sustainable materials for high-performance applications using recycled carbon fibre. Professionally, Paul-Antoine has worked as an intern in Advanced Engineering at DELFINGEN, a French automotive supplier, and later as a Project Manager at Valeo, managing projects on-site in Japan. Now, Paul-Antoine brings his international experience to DeepDrive, where he’s part of our Sales team, creating customised motor solutions for clients based on our In-Wheel and Central Drive products. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dYJEpsSd

We are DeepDrive, a high-tech company headquartered in Munich, Germany, offering revolutionary drive units for electric vehicles. Addressing the most pressing challenges of today's electric vehicles, our patented Dual Rotor motor topology does not only enable high-volume EVs with >800 km of range but also can save automakers more than €1 billion in costs when deployed at scale. Additionally, it enables EVs to drastically reduce carbon emissions, potentially saving multiple gigatonnes of CO2 emissions over the EV fleet's lifetime. Versatile in design, our technology can be seamlessly integrated into the wheels or employed as a traditional central drive. Our experts with extensive experience in large-scale series production and the support of high-profile investors, including Leitmotif, BMW i Ventures, Continental‘s Corporate Venture Capital Unit, UVC Partners,, and Bayern Kapital make DeepDrive the motor of electric mobility. Additional investors include industry veteran Dr. Peter Mertens (former board member and CTO of Audi and Volvo) and top start-up executive Jonas Rieke (COO of Personio).

Luca’s engineering journey began in Padua, Italy, where he completed a Bachelor’s in Information Engineering. He then pursued a Master’s in Automation and Control Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where he specialised in control systems. During his studies, Luca gained practical experience through an internship at ABB in Germany, working on industrial plant optimisation. After his studies, Luca joined Blickfeld, a Munich-based startup, where he worked with MEMS technology and further developed his technical skills. Now at DeepDrive, he is applying his expertise to enhance software for electric motor systems, contributing to innovative developments in the field. In his free time, he enjoys football, cycling, and has recently taken up bouldering during his time in Germany. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dfwJzd9r

We’re humbled to have caught the interest of yet another prominent German news outlet, with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung interviewing our Co-CEO, Felix, and Karol Virsik, Head of Research Vehicle Concepts and Technologies, from BMW Group on our partnership. As mentioned in the article, BMW recognised early on that our motor technology “could create a revolutionary leap, not just incremental steps, in electric mobility”. We’re extremely proud of this validation from BMW, who are now taking our motors to the next stage with road tests. Here are some highlights from the article, along with additional insights into what makes our technology stand out: 🚗 90% efficiency in real-world conditions: Our technology is extremely efficient. While similar efficiency figures are sometimes claimed by other electric motors on the market, these often apply only to specific driving scenarios—not to the everyday energy consumption that drivers experience on the road. 💰 Reduced costs: In the automotive industry, cost and system cost savings are crucial. Our motor costs €200–€300 less than industry standards, which has a massive impact at scale. Our technology is also 20% more efficient than standard e-motors, allowing automakers to either use a 20% smaller battery or extend range by 20%, further leading to crucial savings. 🌍 50% less rare earth use: By combining an outer and inner rotor, connected mechanically via a U-shaped carrier, we eliminate the risk of speed differentials. This design allows us to achieve a substantial increase in power density and reduce rare earth materials in our permanent magnet motors by at least 50%, all without compromising performance. Thank you, Johannes Winterhagen, for the great collaboration—it was a pleasure working with you!

We love having our furry friends around, so we’re always excited when DeepDrivers bring their dogs to the office! 🐶 It’s a great way to enjoy some extra time with our pups while we work. Whether they’re napping under the desk or strolling around for the belly rubs, they’re always welcome. Because everything’s better with a dog by your side 😉

Zoé, Aiala, Polina, and Violetta, recently attended the annual Women Automotive Network Summit in Stuttgart. We have proudly partnered with the Network for the past two years, working together to support and empower women in our industry. The summit was a fantastic opportunity for the team to engage with female industry leaders, gain valuable insights into career development, and connect with peers who share our dedication to fostering inclusivity in the workplace. It also provided a chance to explore how diversity fuels innovation and how new technologies are shaping the future of the sector. Through our collaboration with the Women Automotive Network, the women of DeepDrive benefit from ongoing mentorship and support. The partnership includes two mentorship cycles per year, where participants can engage with mentors from around the world, followed by continuous online guidance. During the summit, some of our team members had the pleasure of meeting their mentors in person for the first time. A big thank you to the organisers for delivering such a well-structured and inspiring event. We’re grateful to be part of this journey and look forward to many more opportunities for networking and female empowerment.

As a Munich-based company, going to Oktoberfest is almost a must—and for us, it has become a tradition since we first went together as a team in 2022 🎉 Seeing the evolution of our Team Oktoberfest makes us a bit sentimental. In 2022, we started with just 2 tables, last year we had 4, and this year we filled 6 tables with 75 DeepDrivers! Big shoutout to Carola, who always manages to snag the best spots—this year, we were right in the middle with the perfect view! 😎 We’re already excited to see how many tables we’ll need to book next year! #DeepDriveRide Festhalle Schottenhamel OHG
